This might be beating a dead horse, but constantly improving my guild hall of [Cirq] is one of my passions in game. This Lunar New year I’ve made over 80 Lunar Arches, definitely over 80 Firecrackers, 60+ Ascalonian Trees, 15+ Gold Walls (oh lord do I HATE making Gold Walls) and the list goes on.
My only requests/suggestions/questions revolve around these:
+Area decoration limit. Why do we have this? The rumor that was passed onto me was in order to preserve other player’s processing, therefore you can’t have too many in one place.
+Decoration Cap. Why is there a cap? 2,000 may seem like an unending limit, but we’ve constantly had to monitor. About every few months one of us has to sit down and catalogue all of our decorations and math-out what’s out and what isn’t and what we can remove and preserve everyone’s pride/sensibilities for the areas they’ve decorated.
+Lunar New Year Decorations. Gong Xi Fa Cai! But why so limited? I’d love to make that GIANT Festive Arch that sits around the Asura Gate in Noble’s Terrace. I want to string Festive Lantern Strings (without placing 10 individual lanterns and finagling weird decorations so I can make it look like the strung lights) between all my arches and walls!
+Event-specific decoration bases. Clouds are only available during SAB, Pumpkins even though Candy Corn is available probably infinitely via TP is only available via Halloween. It puts a lot of pressure in a short time period to come up with gold to buy the necessary items or bribe someone else to donate or the time to farm. Why not make these available year-round, even if we don’t have SAB baubles to buy clouds? Maybe someone else does and we’re happy to pay them 25-50s a bauble to donate to the guild.
Now I don’t follow forums that often, so if this has all been addressed definitely and no-can-do we’ll just deal with it, but I feel that Guild Halls have so much room for expansion (especially if they can fix that "Close in 5 minutes gtfo to a new Guild Hall map).

Good luck.
I havent really gotten into the decoration stuff yet, barely work on my scribe. But i know my guildie and his wife do. I agree with you on the festival items i don’t see why they can’t be all year round. Would allow you to craft them at a slower pace so you could see what decoration gets upgraded to what at your leisure vs. getting 100 pumpkins right away then needing another 100 pumpkins right away cuz you messed up or wanted to use them in a different way.
overall though i say guild halls need more love. GW1 guild halls were a lot better imo then gw2’s. I know we’ll get there in time though like everything else in this game. ie guesting took 1 year to get, which then turned to megaservers another year later
I just don’t want to wait another 5 years for guild halls to live up to their potential lol
I take it you’ve never played The Sims (or didn’t play it much)?
If you had then surely at some point you’d have experimented with making a huge house filled with items and noticed that it quickly gets very, very slow to load and run that map, even on a good computer. If you push it far enough it will crash. (Something I found out when I got into an argument with my sister about whether there was a limit, 500 chairs in, plus floors to put them on, the game gave up.)
The difference there is if you cram so many things into a Sims map that your PC can barely run it that’s your choice and only your problem. If someone else fills your guild hall with so many items that you’re locked out of it because the game will freeze or time-out when you try to enter that’s not something you can necessarily do anything about. Except leave and find a guild that’s more sympathetic to the needs of all its members.
