Has anyone been able to do this event chain in Iron Marches? It is the champion in the ‘Kill the Branded devourer queen’ Level 59. The chain starts with ‘Protect Sentinel Whiptail while he finds and tames a siege devourer’ Level 56.

To be ridiculously honest, ever since the megaserver update, I’ve never found a map that wasn’t bugged.

I’ve reported the instance numerous times in the forums and in-game via /bug

I check about twice a day, when I play (which is around 15 hours/week)

And not once have I found a map where this event isn’t bugged.

I’m curious to see if anyone has been able to successfully complete this event since the megaserver rolled out.

I did this recently. I don’t remember when exactly but it was within the last week. I was exploring Iron Marches and happened to come across the Protect Sentinel Whiptail event, and just followed the whole line from there.

We were able to fight and kill the devourer queen, and got the chest and I don’t remember encountering any bugs, but I’d never done it before so I’m not sure how it’s supposed to work.

This event has been hard to complete since the game rolled out. The chain is large. It begins with protecting the devourer queen, the training the babies, escorting them, finding a giant siege devourer, escorting troops across the brand, etc, etc.

The event becomes stuck VERY frequently on the stage of escorting the soldiers across the brand, but there is a NEW bug since the implementation of the mordrem attacks on Iron Marches. The bug is that the flamethrower event right by he lake happens to be in the path of the escort the trained devourers, where I believe one will die and introduces a second place to get stuck.

If you need that trait I highly recommend that you buy it. It is too difficult to find an un-bugged map

I might have to do that, I really didn’t want to buy any traits on this toon, since I made him just to play with the trait system.

I’ll buy it, if after getting all the other traits and I still can’t get a map with it not bugged.

i remember fighting a large purple devour once but i don’t remember this
gee, maybe it will be one of the new dailies there are so many hate threads about.. people will go try it, some might get it many will notice the bug.. it will get fixed, everyone will enjoy the game more. . .

bugged since launch. Or since i completed that map for the first time, anyway.

I remember, the first time i completed the event, i used the experimental rifle they sell next to the lake, and one shotted the queen. I think you cannot do it any more, though. That rifle was sick!

Its just nice to know that the event works, even if its rarely.

Though I really hope that whatever is bugging it gets fixed. Anet developers please figure it all out (if you’re reading this ;p)

I know this is an older topic but, it’s not a solved problem so…

Spent two days trying to get this chain to work to no avail. I finally gave up and purchased the trait you get when you defeat the queen.

I think they should take the time to review the broken events and either remove them, or fix them. That would make me feel a lot better about any expansion purchase.

Its bugged constantly, I was only able to do this once for the trait unlock was lucky to find it working on a random map instance, the other times I was on Iron Marches it was always bugged. I have reported it multiple times ingame and on forums I guess nothing has been done.

I too created a bug report in-game.

When people say a “random map instance”… you aren’t actually changing your home world right? You are just saying, you connected and whatever server I was on it was working. Right?

correct, and guesting for whatever its worth now. You can check what map instance your on with the /ip command.
