Deirdre's Garden should be "no fly"
On the other hand, it’s a very scenic place and there’s a magic to gliding around and enjoying the view which may attract more players, and being able to glide will save some from certain death and having to leave the instance and come back in. You don’t have to glide if it spoils it for you and can still enjoy the jp in the classical way.
If they aren’t going to turn all the JPs into “no glide” zones, then I don’t see why Deirdre’s should be treated differently. If anything, they should imo do the opposite: if the puzzle can be completed with a minor number of mesmer portals, then they might as well allow gliding.

I could see a system where gliding isn’t disabled on any jp, but jps provide a challenge mote which disables gliding until you finish/die/cancel which may satisfy both jp enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts.
Usually any JP that is up only, doesn’t have gliding disabled since it doesn’t provide an advantage.
RIP City of Heroes
kinda takes the magic out of it when you can fly from the Cantle of the Sun to the water one, or the air one to the others
There is nothing preventing you from doing the JP the same way as before.
I really like that this is not a “no fly” JP- if memory serves me correct, the JP isn’t exactly easy to get to/is far away from a waypoint. I like the safety net that gliding provides- miss a jump and at least you can glide down to safety to start over instead of plummeting to your death.
And like Khisanth said, you can still complete the JP the old fashioned way! Having the option of gliding means you can tailor the content yourself depending on your ability and mood

Three out of four entrances are fairly close to a WP but they have a 10-15 minute cooldown since they are tied to events.
I can see what you mean, but I love being able to fly in it. It’s so cool climbing the tree and then jumping or going to the really high ledges.
It is my favorite hang out place after all.

This is what I do at every jumping puzzle, the old fashioned way, even when mesmer portals appear all around me.
I really don’t understand OP’s complaint about people using gliders. If they don’t want to use a glider at a jumping puzzle, then don’t use it.

In this thread: User complaining that someone got a blue, a green, and 4 empyreal fragments worth of loot mildly easier because of gliding.
I think it is a lovely area to collide in, and I would even like to see updrafts at it just to fly around and enjoy the view
