I have a simple question, if i delete a character, the items that are bound to it and conserved in bank will unbind?

Nope. Personally I don’t have an issue with this either. It’s pretty standard in games as far as my experience.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

No it just says that the item is bound to “Another character”. and all that’s left to do is destroy the item(s) in question.

I can understand gear, but soul bound items bought from the store should become unbound when the character is deleted.

Nope, does not work. You have to do the transmute trick, transmute your desired skin on to a white item (lvl 1-79) (makes it account bound). And if you want the stats you get a transmutation splitter thing for 300gems.

Once something is bound you can only get it account bound.

There’s a big difference between “should” (as in what is ethical) and “make money” (as in what Anet sees with the current setup)

Are you talking like the armor skins? Or the unlimited gathering tools?

In the case of the armor skins, could you use a trans splitter to regain the skin? Or possible even just trans it to a white to make it account bound?

As for the unlimited tools….. hmmm… not sure how I feel about that one. I mean, yes, I would prefer if those bad boys were account bound, but I guess my question would be…why would you put them on a char you weren’t positive you would keep?

i did not explain my self very well…what i want to say is this! My goal isn’t to sell at trading post my gear\items from deleted char, but to reuse them to a new char

They need an item in the shop to make soulbound items Account Bound (and soulbound on use), more money for Anet.

yes but i don’t understand why i can’t delete a char without trashing all i used on it…just make this items account bound: they will not break the game economy, but i spent game time to craft them or i had a lucky strike to drop them or i just farmed some dungeon to buy them…i beleive i deserve to conserve them to use the on another char!

If you just want to keep the skins you can break the soulbinding before you delete the character. But that’s the only way. And you will lose the stats.

That kinda is subjective to individual basis. Perhaps not now, but look in a years time – someone might wanna remake their character and level them up from scratch. It would be pretty frustrating to loose what you worked hard to attain. People don’t make characters necessarily to delete them, but they don’t necessarily do so knowing they’ll keep them forever.
