During the first week and a half or so the patches were coming down in torrents. Servers offline several times a night. The upside was many of the bugs were being cleared out with the resets.

Right now the state of the game is horrid for levelling (early). Far to many Events are bugged up, they are “currently active” with nothing going on, no spawns, whatnot. This also impacts the spawns that normally occur in that area and in some cases are bugging up the local Renown Hearts quests by removing the normal spawns that are necessary to complete the Heart. On top of this far to many Skill Point challenges are either “currently active” with NO challenge available, or the challenge NPC doesn’t spawn at all.

Due to the lack of server resets the game is currently extremely fubared for levelling. Mob xp is FAR to low to level off of, which is as intended. Jumping servers was nerfed due to WvW exploiters, and in most cases jumping a server results in finding the same bug (this happened to me on friday, same skill point NPC missing on 2 different servers).

This really impacts the game, especially since I am finding a lot of new players that just bought this game trying to level up. It is producing a horrible gaming experience.

I haven’t read anything about tonight’s patch addressing these issues. There needs to be something put in place at least for the moment. Temporary Overflow servers that collapse and reset, something…

I haven’t found the starting experience all that different today than it was a month ago, and I’ve been running six alts up through those events for the past three weeks.

It seems to me though that the stuff I saw bugged on my first run through, either still is bugged, or it’s been replaced by something else on the list. Basically, zero actual progress. Yet I still manage to have a blast while playing. I must be bugged too…

I have been leveling an alt a bit, and yes, the game right now seems more buggy than ever. It appears that, many events and skill challenges have ways of blocking up at some points after several repeats. It’s currently so bad that I can’t enter an area without reading about bugged skill challenges and encountering several bugged events in each zone.

The lack of events working forced me to level my alt entirely unlike I leveled my first character at release. Instead of simply going from 1 level zone to another, I have to visit atleast two zones of the same level range to gain enough experience to go to the next level range. Yes, this includes gathering, personal story, and WvW. There are just hardly any ‘dynamic events’ happening that are not bugged themselves, or blocked from happening by a bugged event in the chain.

Main source of experience? Grinding hearts (Yes, I said grinding, it really is a grind without many events boosting progress), and waypoints.

High level zones are terrible. But i have good feelings about tonight patch.

From my experience the Charr early zones were the most buggy of the early zones (most of the bugs are 40+ though).

I’m leveling up just fine with as many alts as my 6 character slots allow me. If its a Orr issue, it’s not as much as a “leveling problem” as you are trying to make us believe.

And even if 10% of all DEs were bugged somehow (which I strongly doubt), it wouldn’t still be enough to call the game state “deplorable”. You seem just frustrated and decided to come here and vent.

Get your hopes up, today’s patch may fix a lot of bugs for everyone.

For example, in Lornar’s Pass over the last couple of days, there were three events/chains that seemed to work. People were spamming them. Despite that, I found myself doing hearts considerably over my level. While I also have hope that ANet will fix things sooner rather than later, I have to agree that the game is not making a good impression at the moment.

the game is far from “deplorable”. please learn to make appropriate titles. yeah, there are some messed up skill points, but do you have any idea just how huge the game area is? is it really that big of a deal? i went go to level 80, and i can remember maybe 2 skill point areas that were bugged, along with a similar number of events that couldn’t be started or finished. not exactly the biggest deal, especially when you consider the size and scope of the gaming area.

I’m lvling up slower than many others and I just now finished Gendarran fields. For 2 day i am trying to do daily achievements and am forced to go to WvW to do 5 DEs. Why? B/c almost all des in gendarran fields do not work. I changed map to that snowy 25-40 zone. 1st thing? Bugged de. 2nd thing? bugged skill challenge. Seriously I can’t even finish 5 des in pve (I spend 40 minutes searching those zones). that is quite terrible for a game 1 month after release. I’m on Piken Square.

I’m yet to see a broken DE on my 47 elementalist. Really, I never experienced any kind of bugs so far and I have 100% completion on many many zones with him…

I remember that I found a lot of broken SPs back in beta and they were all fixed on retail.

Pretty much all of the bugs I’ve seen reported are level 40+, so my experiences are relevant to the discussion as they seem to be the norm rather than a single “lucky” case.

I have not run into a single gamebreaking bug outside of the personal story. That includes SP, Vistas, etc.

The personal story, otoh, is a bugged to hell, but FT is being addressed.

Far to many Events bugged! Bugged Renown Hearts! Far to many Skill Point challenges bugged! Fubared for levelling! Mob xp is FAR to low! Jumping server nerfed! Horrible gaming experience!

Pretty much describes the opposite of the 4hrs I played today.
I offer you this – transfer to Aurora Glade, come run with the Legend of Xericor for a few hours, because I seem to manage to avoid most of this stuff (I say most, not all – had 2 bugged events today!).
