I was wondering why anet hasn’t tried doing a Design-a-Weapon contest for GW2. The majority of highly sought after weapons in GW1 were derived from designs made by the community. I personally think it could spark new and epic ideas from the design teams if they see what the players actually think looks good.

I agree they should have another Design-A-Weapon contest (some of the fan-designed stuff in GW1 was amazing), but…

It’d require they have designers that could actually implement the new textures and 3D models in the game.

See: Every Gem store armor thus far that is basically a re-texture of an existing armor.

That doesn’t mean they’re unable to do it, it just means effort would be involved….
