In gw1 there was a design a weapon competition. Many of the winners designs were actually used and their weapons could be found in dungeons and what not.
So why dont we have a design competition in gw2? Not just for weapons but maybe for everything. Like a design a backpiece and a design town clothes competition. It would be really cool and a way for the community to decide on some designs they would like to see in game. Plus maybe some of the designs like town clothes could be sold in the gem store.
anyways i would like to hear your thoughts on this idea

oh didnt even think of that, nice idea. Honestly even though there is alot of customization in this game its been a year and i think we need some new stuff like armors, weapons, faces, hairs, town clothes, etc. And through design competitions they dont really need to do alot of work to add these features. (yes work to implement them but no wasted time on coming up with new designs)

I’ve been thinking about this for a while.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was a competition for a wide variety of player generated content?

Areas of the competition could include:
-Weapon design
-Armour design
-Face and hair designs for makeover kits etc
-Short dialogues between NPCs and interactable dialogues
-Poems/ditties/little songs for NPCs (similar to the “Little Barracuda” song sung by a quaggan)

This would definitely be a lot of fun. It would be great for the community to vote on their particular favourites, but also have dev votes as well.

Of course, there could be guidelines put in place to direct the creativity somewhat.
A theme could be set for some of the categories. An example of this:
" ‘An Embarassing Secret’ NPC dialogue, must be approximately 7 lines spoken each from two NPCs, an Asura and a Sylvari."
