Is the recent surge in communication and outright honesty a flash in the pan to boost player engagement (and in turn HoT sales) or a change in policy/strategy?

I ask because post-BWE3 communication dried up to a trickle for the better part of three years.

This new wave is spectacular, and long may it continue. However, if it’s just a surge to get sales then that’s just sad.

well if you want to push the logic and cynicism far enough literally everything is a marketing trick.

it is definitely a surge and engagement probably wont last at these levels because right now is crunch time in development where theyre trying to hammer everything down and feedback is at its most important

You won’t get an official reason for the increased level of communication from the dev’s. But I believe previously they weren’t allowed to communicate freely as a matter of policy.

This is what I wish to know. Has there been a change? Out is it just a marketing effort to make it seem like devs engage with the player base?

Engaged devs are a major selling point. I hope it lasts.
