indeed they should, over-designed skins no longer cut it, but “what kind of weapons?” you would ask, well indeed I think this game need new weapons, and I just stumble upon this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword

PISTOL SWORDS!!!! bad@sses used to built them in 16th C. to cut opponents and shoot them, shoot opponents and then cut them, or both at the same time!!!! , GW2 tech is more advance than ours was at that time, how come we dont see stuff like that? in GW2 we have tech and magic, thats like the best of both worlds and yet we have like regular rifles and regular swords that only “look magic”? just think about it.

it doesnt have to be just pistol sword, let your imagination fly, like spear-rifle hybrids, hammer-rocket launchers…something (just brainstorming here) Im just thinking something like that I would actually call an “ascended weapon” not just the regular weapons with what? like? 5% stat improvement or something? thats what ascended weapons are as of now right? whatever!!!

just think about

FYI, those things sucked IRL.

To quote your source:
“Pistol swords were not widely used and became uncommon relatively quickly, due to their expense and because instead of getting two weapons in one, one got a heavy pistol and a heavy, off-balance sword, as shown by the poor performance of the Elgin pistol.”

There’s still plenty of weapon catagories to dig into, though. Seems like everyone wants a two-handed axe (let me guess: borrowing from WoW?). Polearms existed as a terrestrial weapon class in-game, but were removed at some point.

Lord I wish the search feature on this forum worked so the same topic posts don’t keep appearing non-stop.

Kill stuff to unlock weapons skills, most confusing thing I ever heard of. (sarcasm)
