A week ago I played a level 9 Fractal with the minidungeon Uncategorized Fractal with 2 Guildmates and 2 pugs and in the boss fight against the security golem I forgot that I can enter trough the teleporting stuff near the entrance to the boss and I stayed out of the fight because I taught I was stuck there until the boss was killed or my group died it seems they died I watched the entire fight and I did not knew why they died but the next try with me there we won and I realised the reason we won was because I was there to take some damage from my group. And the gorup was like this Warrior, elementalist, guardian, necromancer, warrior.
Did any of had a event that made you understand the importance of a full group or you just used logic and knew?

That gate event in Citadel of Flame path 1 made me realize the necessity of a full group. xD

But yeah, if they let you have up to 5 people to do a dungeon then unless you’re really hardcore, you’ll prolly want/need the full group to do it properly.

That’s the core of the gw2 dungeon meta, relying on group utilities rather than selfish ones ( ex: banners instead of signets). For your particular exemple, since Big old tom is a dps race, having one more people does make a difference in low dps setups.

If you’re on EU and need help to get into dungeons, pm me.

I just kinda assumed that the maximum number of people would be optimal for dungeons..

The max number of people in a dungeon is usually the easiest way to get through them. You do more damage, and spread more damage out instead of having it all go to one person (Depending on how the group is playing). You can also get boons you normally don’t have access to, and add more conditions on an enemy.

On the other hand, doing dungeons as a duo group, or solo, is a very challenging experience too, and a naked dungeon with some people in my guild has been one of the most fun times I ever had in the game.

So just play how you have fun.

Hmmm. The only time I’ve done it without a full group is when the leader DC’d, didn’t come back and we couldn’t kick him cuz it would kick us to. We were all noobs, didn’t have a clue as to where to go next or what to do. So we started running past a group of mobs hoping to get to the next spot. We all got confused about where to go next up some ramps. Got separated. Mass deaths ensued. Not a pretty sight.

After the trait rebalance the right amount of people to do Ascalonian Catacombs is 3. Same goes for Twilight Arbor.
