With the upcoming game sale 6-8 March through buyguildwars2.com yet again I’m left wondering if ANet have ever offered a similar discount on the in-game upgrade?

I fully understand the sale is intended to attract new players to the game with the reduced price, but I still wish they would offer similar benefits to existing players. Hopefully this could be considered for a future gem store sale.

The upgrade has been on sale at least one time that I know of. Perhaps they will offer a sale again. I guess just keep your eyes out for it.

During the sale, you can buy a new deluxe account for 15 bucks.

On the gemstore in the description it says: “Includes all items from Guild Wars 2 Heroic Edition”, does that mean it has the legacy armour skin?

Do you think it worth the 500 gems to upgrade to Deluxe?

You should totally get it. I just did and I am very happy. A mini, a new set of skins, a 2 week golem banker (yay!) and so much more and just for 500 gems!

So if you own the Digital Deluxe from before Heroic Edition, you have always had the option to scam yourself and pay 1500-2000 gems for nothing more than an armor worth 500 gems and an 18 slot bag with some boosters.

This weekend is the only time you can click that upgrade and break even in value unless you’re really into buying EXP boosters on the shop.

I wonder how it works for people that already had the previous deluxe version, do we get another set of items, like another two weeks golem or not really?

You get nothing from what I remember accidentally buying the upgrade a second time. I think I got 1 or 2 things but definitely no pvp influence book as it clearly states it’s a one time thing per account.

So yeah, do not recommend buying it a second time, haha.

They should have advertised it like this:

Physical items

  • Guild Wars 2 game disc for PC and the best of Guild Wars 2 soundtrack CD
  • Collectible metal box and 10" Rytlock figurine
  • Custom art frame, portfolio, and five art prints
  • Making of Guild Wars 2 112-page hardback book

Digital items

  • The Golem Banker which provides unlimited access to your account storage for five consecutive days
  • The Chalice of Glory, a one-time-use item that will add a set amount of Glory to your account
  • The Tome of Influence, a one-time-use item that will add a set amount of Influence to your guild
  • Miniature Rytlock
  • Summon Mistfire Wolf Elite Skill, an elite skill that summons a Mistfire Wolf to fight alongside you

MEGA BONUS ITEM

  • As a sincere token of our gratitude, while somewhere down the road we’ll increase the digital value of our standard edition, we’ll exclusively give our Collector’s Edition supporters a one-time ability to scam themselves

And people said ArenaNet doesn’t do loyalty bonuses. Pfft, shows how much they know.
