Q:

I farm a certain area a lot. Usually until I get hit with DR. I either switch toons, accounts or wait 20-30 mins. This gets rid of DR and allows me to farm again. I have been offline for 18 hours and DR is still present on 2 of my accounts. I’ve read the wiki, forums and reddit on DR and how it works.

Can anyone add a bit more on why/how I am still on DR in the same location I played 18hrs ago?

Thanks

I don’t think you are being hit with DR like you think you are. Google other post and you will find in all actuality you are not suffering from it.

Actually, it sounds exactly as if he’s suffering from DR.

@OP: it doesn’t matter how many hours since your last session, if you haven’t been online with that character. Go somewhere else with that character.

  • For event DR, do at least one other event for which you get silver/gold credit and involves killing foes.
  • For loot DR, it usually means playing (not just being AFK) for 30+ minutes, depending on how much DR you built up and how often on that toon.

People who got DR in Orr using guardians to farm e.g. the three temples in the final zone used to use up to 3 guardians and swap them around, then play them e.g. in southsun for karka queen to break DR.

How do you know you’ve been it with DR?
Genuinely curious

Bags, side chests stop dropping. Silvers and karma become less or non exsistent.

Also I thought if you farm one area without going off and doing something else on another map (at least zoning to another map) that you hit DR eventually. Could be wrong but thought that is how it worked.

Second day in a row…
18 hours since I farmed the same spot and still on DR again. Last night after I posted here, I waited 30 mins and was able to get bags. When I hit DR, I left the map. I came back an hour later and was still on DR (both accounts). This is complete crap.
Couldn’t play WvW all week because you refuse to fix it and now this DR crap is preventing me from farming. WTH are you doing ANET?
My friends are able to farm without issue and them waiting 20-30 mins after hitting DR is working just fine.
Why would an account be hit with DR hard like this? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Thanks

My guess is it is to prevent bots and gold farmers.

It is to hinder (as much as possible) bots and gold farmers (and real farmers, though they deny this, they have never made the slightest effort to fix it, and you know what they say about how loudly actions speak).

It has never worked properly, being way overzealous from day 1
And likely won’t ever work properly, as they hate farmers (despite reassurances to the contrary)

You can try putting in a support ticket, maybe there’s something they can reset, or maybe if enough people report it they’ll find a bug (lol).
