In the norn starting area there was a discussion on the last boss fight in the game….

My fellow norns had this to say….

The dragon that killed thousands of norns and drove thousands more out of their homeland and ripped apart the continent…..can be killed by 5 players….4 with a good group.

During the fight the dragon goes AFK….to go make breakfast….and while he’s AFK we attack! They said its the equivalent of a kitten rolling over to let you rub his belly while he falls asleep.

They also said that if you do have a party of 5….all 5 players can go AFK as long as they are auto attacking the dragon….you will still win.

Once the dragon dies….he drops gear found in the starting areas of the game.

The “last boss” is a pushover yes. The entire instance prior too him is pretty tedious, though.

The Mouth is probably one of my favorite boss fights in the game though. Tossing fiery balls into his mouth to stagger and make him vulnerable is pretty fkn cool :p

Dortmunder, I hated Estate of Decay because it’s very tedious having to kill all the spectral guards first, avoid the constant aoe attacks from the mouth, and try to keep the risen servants from bringing him food. I don’t know about the fiery “spheres” you mention. I didn’t see any option to do that. Maybe it was bugged when I did it.

Anyway, Kaine if you go the the Personal Story section of forums, you’ll find a number of posts regarding the battle against Zhaitan. Your summary basically summarizes the description of the fight along with posts regarding the poor loot drop at the end.

Well to be fair you are talking about the wrong dragon, it wasn’t Zaitan that beat the Norn it was Jormag, but yes the fight is lackluster and boring but the instance is great up until that point.

For zhaitan you press 2 every 4-5 seconds for about 3 minutes and then you win.
Im serious. This is how you win.
He doesnt hurt you. He doesnt fight back. This isnt an exploit, its how the fight is meant to go. You stand there and press 2 until he dies.

And then you are given a rare level 80 cowl (with the same skin that you have been getting for EVERY story mode dungeon) with kitten stats that you salvage and hope will cough up some ecto.

yep zhaitan boss fight is a major let down. Though mine wasn’t making breakfast just hugging a big rock pillar while we shot him down with cannons.

but even then 3 of us went afk and we had only 2 people shooting him.

Thats not the dragon itself but just a minion!

However judging by the story end boss.
You’ll jump on an airship with 4 others and spam installed weapons.

the entire Arah storyline instance was pretty darn cool up to that point

was kinda disappointed when it was just spamming 2 for 3minutes. He didn’t even do anything.

I just hope Zhaitan is bugged, I feel like he probably does things and fails to activate

I really, really doubt they meant for the last boss, the mighty dragon, to just take a coffee break while you rock him with cannons.

that plus during the cut scene, there hardly isn’t any epic music playing as the dragon hugs the pillar like a child holding onto an ice cream cone. (I won’t spoil the scene but you get the idea).
