Is it just me or is it the same for everybody?
The amount of times midway during an event I get disconnected is absurd.
This has got to stop, I have a Pent i7 with a Nvidia GTX 670i and even when I run on the lowest settings my game disconnects.
Anet plz fix you are ruining the game.

Are you getting disconnected or are you getting a bug report – two different things

I take it as a disconnect as it reads " you cannot connect to the server at this time".
Or words to that effect.

It might have more to do with your connect because I have a i7-970 and a Nvidia 580Ti and have yet to get disconnected during an event even when the lag goes through the roof.

I only have a Quad-core, and I don’t get disconnected. Maybe you should try contacting Tech Support.

As an aside, I thought this thread was going to be about disco balls or disco dance or disco clubs. Lol.

I was going to make a ‘quip’ about the ‘Moot’, but realized my puns aren’t all that flashy

Oh, do! I enjoy puns. =)

Oh! Not the weapon (is there a weapon named ‘Moot’?), but the festival? DiscoMoot?

So far haven’t been disconnected during the events and my hardware is lower than yours (560 video card and I5 processor), so I’m guessing it’s not actually hardware related. Maybe it’s your connection? Try to open a ticket to see if they can pinpoint what the problem is, meanwhile you can try to find the IP of the server you’re connecting to (I read you can do this by typing /ip in game, but no idea if it works, never tried it myself), open a command prompt window and type ping IP (substitue IP for the number, of course) or tracert IP and see if there are drops in the connection.

It’s a pile of Elonian protection magic, mixed with a little monk training,
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.

I’ve been DCed a couple of times. ‘Cannot connect to log in server, check your connection’ errors, yet everything else I’m doing is still chugging along just fine. I chalked it up to my machine currently being on the low end of the requirements spectrum, even though I run everything almost as low as it’ll go.

Hopefully I’ll be able to upgrade some of my components in a few more months. crosses fingers

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

The legendary mace is called the Moot, aka the disco ball.

Don’t disturb me, I have a cat in me at the moment.

I used to have it real bad from the launch until I found out what my problem was. I had it so bad I would DC 8-10+ times everyday and get told to do the “-repair” thing.

What was causing this? Bad ram. I ran that ramtest program and found a LOT of errors. Bought brand new ram sticks and have had maybe just a few dc’s in about 8 months now.

Look into testing your ram if you have added more or replaced any.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

LOL. don’t forget to log out of the forums when you leave.

I used to DC all the time, but then I switched to a different router and that fixed it. /shrug so there are lots of potential issues and fixes.

That said, I totally came to this thread thinking it’d be all about the Moot and partying with it. disappointed :\

The current event setup is especially unfriendly to DCed players, as once you’re in a map and get DCed, chances are you’ll never get back into that map and the event for it is essentially ruined for you. This has happened to me twice when I’ve been in the final map I need for the achievement. It’s frustrating to say the least. The design of this content is seriously flawed when you cannot play content but once every hour. I should have been able to reconnect to the game, get in an overflow map, and complete the event, which was only 18 minutes into it. Or else, the maps ought to be on a predictable rotation so players can plan to enter the maps they still need.

At OP: Having an i7 and a 670 card has nothing to do with your connection. Even if you have an overclocked i7 to 6ghz with a SLI GTX690 system, if you lose connection to the server that’s the game’s server or your connection’s fault.

DC happens to all of us at some point and it sucks when it happens at such a time, And don’t worry about coming back, I’m sure many people here would love to see immature kids like you out of the game. Don’t forget to delete the cookies from your browser.
