Well, I guess the question is what’s in the topic title.

I don’t have a lot of disk space left, so I am curious how much more disk space the game will need with the new expansion?

Thanks.

What you got on ur disk taking up all that space… ??? hehehe…
With today’s cheap HD’s, shouldn’t be an issue for a few extra GB’s (wha evah size it is).
Go get yourself an SSD drive, install windows and GW2 on that, keep filling up your old HD with por…. er uh whatever you spin off of it.

I’m actually curious as well. I’m sure I have enough space but only because I have deleted games from my main drive. It’s an SSD and right now I have 57.1 GB free of 223 GB. My secondary drive, well, 900 GB free of 931, but I have WoW on that and have noticed a slower load time as a result so I’m not putting a must-play game on it. I suppose I could move all my screenshots over to that drive, that might be where most of my GB are going. If I get the Witcher, which depends on being convinced I can remap the controls away from WASD, then my space gets reduced even more.

Anyway, using an SSD is exactly why people might run out of space and have to consider the size of the expansion.

Well typically you have room for four drives. Primary and slave, secondary and slave. 128’s are under $100, which is all I actually use since I only play a few games that take advantage of the 10x+ access times. Just what is most important is to have windows on the SSD, especially including the windows virtual memory. But even just having two HD’s is a performance boost, even if one is mechanical.

Just get a 64gb usb3 drive and put gw2 on it – considering you have a usb3 port. It’s what I do, loads almost as fast as an ssd and faster than sataII drives.

Like when and for how much, requirements isn’t something they’ve shared yet either.

So I would suggest you find another device to backup/transfer some of your files over.

WinDirStat is a nice way to see where and what is hogging all your drive space.

HoT drive space allocation.
I can say with 100% accuracy that the expansion will be greater than 1kb :P

Yeah i would invest in a bigger HDD. Sounds like you may have a bunch of stuff on there you may not need. I have a 250gb hdd on mine and its still only about 1/2 filled. Granted i dont have wow. But i do have quite a bit of other stuff but not enoufh to be concerned about. Remember movies can be burned to dvds…. :P

yeah prob looking at a few GBs extra for it. A good idea if running low on disk space is to clear out cache/history files that are unused. A good prog is Ccleaner its free and will remove alot of unneeded OS history files, so if you dont use a cleaner go get a copy of it. I did a clean out for my sister not too long ago (shes never used a cleaner before) ccleaner saved her 6gb space on her HDD after the unneeded files were deleted.
