It would help if, rather than leaving us all to speculate, panic and rage for another 2 weeks (almost), the Devs could dispel some tension by listing:

Which town clothes are armourable and which are not.
Which tonic clothes will have which ‘additional’ pieces added.

We don’t need previews, we just need to know what is being done with items that we have (in many cases) paid real money for.

If it’s not an outfit or a hat, it’s becoming a tonic. After April 15th, you may request a refund for any pieces that were turned into tonics.

I’m still hoping they’re staying quiet because they’re seriously re-thinking the system and planning to change it before the patch comes out.

I’m not sure everything is becoming either an ‘outfit’ or a ‘tonic’.

I say this because of this response:

Curtis Johnson

Narthexia.1836:

will there be individual mix and match pieces in future releases? Or will they all be complete sets?

We will continue to release mix and match armor skin pieces.

I guess we will find out more on the 15th. =)

I’m hoping that this is a “phase 1” of their huge overhaul, and that perhaps the tonics will become ‘skins’ that can be added to the wardrobe on a second pass.

Perhaps too hopeful? :\

They should just get rid of the entire ‘town clothes’ idea and turn all the current town clothes skins into armor.

Why can’t they just let -us- decide what clips/looks good and what does not?

Note the word “armor” in that reply, when what was being asked about was town clothes/outfits. In other words, they’ll continue to put out new Light/Medium/Heavy armor stuff, but not any mix and match non-armor stuff.

Remember that after the update, there will be no town clothes period, just armor skins. So it is completely possible that he is just calling town clothes armor.

Considering he was answering a question about town clothes, I doubt he was being so disingenuous to appear to be answering the question when really speaking about something else entirely.

As posted above, and as evidenced many times before, the Devs tend to use terms they are familiar with in-house, and as the items known as Town-clothes are soon to be defunct, he may have been using a term the Devs have been more familiar with for some time.

Time will tell.
