I like to discuss and see other’s opinion on distinguishing commander tags in the world map. I know when one joins a squad, they will only see the tag of commander they follow. But sometime people like to keep their eye of multiple commanders and if there so many in map, one can lose the track. the idea i have in my mind is having different color on the tag. For example, whenever a new tag appears in the map, it will have one unique random color. Not only one can tell them apart easily, but it will also look good visually. the other idea i have is later by other means one can upgrade their tag by different shap or symbol. but this particular idea may change the commander symbol into whole different symbol.

The negative effect from these idea i see is that it may encourage more people to buy and show tags. With megaserver i already see so many tags, and with these idea the chances are we will see twice an many tag.

Theres a bunch of old threads on this and I believe at one point they said they were looking into it.

My idea would be to make the guild rank symbols within the guild UI be able to toggle on map tags so that only other guildies could see each other along with rank. This way your guild could at least set up smaller groups or simply there own zerg on a map without disturbing anyone outside of your guild. You would also know where you GM was at all times.

that does sound nice. yeah i was also thinking similar, but that was seeing your guild emblem in your name tag. but the problem with that was that i know many people who don’t like their guild emblem and wouldn’t want that on their name plate.

How about a simple number – first commander on the map gets 1, etc.

the reason why i said different color, it looks more appealing. just imagin seeing 10 blue commander tag in a map as we have it now as oppose to 10 variety of color. although numbers can be put on top of the color.
