There is trolling your user base, then there is TROLLING your user base, and then there is the diving platform in the Not So Secret jumping puzzle.

(That’s like next level trolling)

Don’t get it… where is the problem? You climb up – and jump down. Plenty of players did it before and the jump isn’t that hard if you watch a video before. Furthermore there are lots of friendly people there who are willing to rezz and port.

That jump puzzle is absurdly hard. Watching a video doesn’t make a thing easier, it just shows how a person did it when they succeeded. The fact that we need to find so many friendly people to rezz and port is not an example of how its not so hard. …The jump puzzle is very difficult.

Sure it is. In fact it’s the hardest JP ingame. All i’m saying is that it’s doable. In contrast to other JPs there are some tricks wich you have to figure out to get up quickly (and safely). Granted – it’s way to unforgiving, since it kills you if you don’t think before you jump (but i kinda like that).

If you having a bad time and REALLY can’t do it, feel free to /w me and i’ll port you up.

Edit: Maybe i’ll record a lil video to show you how to do it (if my Hardware can handle it). With some explanations ofc. Think this should make things easier. By this time i need 2 minutes from bottom to peak.

would you? I tried for a week straight every day and never got to the top of it. I gave up on it. Whether lag or my not so nimble fingers I have accepted I’m never going to see the top of that puzzle under my own power. I did have someone in the area port me to the end of the puzzle for the achievement but I’ve yet to get the dive location.

One, the diving goggle mastery point looks very easy at face value. It’s one of the ones you think you can knock out easy, so you get all the googles and then you get to this.

Two, not only is it on top of a jumping puzzle, it’s an additional level that’s harder than the whole puzzle and if you kitten up, you fall to your death and have to do it all over again.

Three, it’s not only another level, its a level you can’t get to if you go for the chest and get the loot. So you have to do it again, if you want both loot and diving platform.

And then four, it’s like the only diving platform where you can kitten up and miss the water and die, so even if you get to it, you can still screw up and have to do the puzzle over again.

Just saying. I know trolling and that’s some serious trolling.

I refuse to do it. There is so game developer with a back door watching me fall to my death as I chase after these stupid goggles and cracking up at my expense. I won’t give him the satisfaction.

Still easier than the Dry Top goggles jump.

It does seem like a goofy decision to make this dive part of a jumping puzzle that has so many silly gimmicks.

either practice it, get better and eventually do it or make some mesmer jp-er friends and get them to portal you

It’s easy once you get the hang of it.

I spent 2 days trying to get to those goggles. On the second day a mesmer spent an hour porting her friend and I up to the goggles. We both tried about 20 times and failed before they both gave up and left and I just wasn’t able to get up there on my own. On the third day I managed to get up to the diving goggles myself in about 10 minutes. Missed the water. Got back up there in another 5 minutes. Hit the water on the second try. Went to whatever other diving locations I needed and finished the divemaster achievement.

Practice makes perfect, and perseverance pays off. I’m confidant that if I ever wanted to do that JP again for the chest at the end I won’t have too much trouble getting it.

Did it last night. Took about 30 minutes to get to the top. Made the dive on my first try. Whereas my guild mate had been getting ported to the top and had been trying to make the dive for about 2 hours.

There are others where you can die or miss the landing zone but those might not be part of the Dive Master achievement. It is the only one involving a blind jump(although there seems to be a work around for that too). The iteration time on it does suck very hard. The jump pads(the ones that bounce you into the air) also do not play well with lag at all. I can’t think of a good justification for something that sensitive to lag on an online game.
