Divinity's Reach
“I wonder if Anet will ever do a revamp to this city so every house can be accessible because there are a lot of house on top of the wall and I would love to have housing over there.”
Probably not. It would be a huge amount of work and player housing would be better in an instanced area such as your home instance where it doesn’t tie up increasing amounts of map space and also have abandoned houses where people build for a while then stop playing or stop working on the house.
ANet may give it to you.

I agree that it will take a long time, but they dont have to do everything at the sametime, small changes make big impacts, and about housing, I think the wall with lots of houses can be instances too, you can take a portal to get inside your house on top, but would love to know your opinion on how housing can work:D
Yes they could go to the trouble of revamping a bunch of houses and add a series of small instances to one or more of the major cities. They would really need to do it to all 5 cities (one set of housing for each race) if they were going to do that. Or they could use the home instance for a lot less effort. It’s already there and would only need one place for housing added per instance instead of multiple places in each city. It’s also thematically better since it’s your home and was advertised at launch as the place that’s important to your character. So my guess is that if they ever put in player housing that’s where it will be.
ANet may give it to you.

Does it need to work? Seems to me to be totally unnecessary. We have guild halls, we don’t need personal housing.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!

We do have guild halls, but I want something where we can costumize our way such as housing in wildstar
Oh yes, player housing.
I’ll get behind that, sure, lets put that in. Make it like a mini- Guild hall. But, as others have said, we already have a home instance, so it would make sense that Anet would build off that… but,, since when has Anet made sense….

The problem with saying “like in a different game I play” is that I have no idea what it’s like in that game. Additionally we shouldn’t be trying to make games like each other. Love WoW or SWTOR raiding? Do it there. Don’t bring it to.. oh wait.
I imagine player housing is baked in from the outset, not really something you want to take on nearly four years later from a coding point of view but you know, it could be a feature. Given I have no idea how it works in wildstar, I’d suggest it would work like it does in GW2 and be a massive time and goldsink for basic items and luxury items part of a collection or tied to an event or gem-store items. Which is probably not what it’s like in wildstar but is what it’s like here. I can’t see that being something that individuals would want to get behind which is why it’s a guild based situation.

The Devs did state, before launch, that player housing would be included in the game, some time in the future (likely with the advent of Guild Halls [oh, well]). Thus, it is possible the coding was something they planned for at the onset.
Who knows?
They might get around to it…after it’s destroyed
