Just wondering, since I see many responses in this subforum and the pvp one
but nowhere else.

If I was a dev, I wouldn’t read those forums. The class section of the forums is where people go to complain about how their class isn’t good enough, so others need to be nerfed. It would give me a massive headache to read through even one of those awful threads.

Listen, we’re lucky if the devs can even find companions defense. Let’s not go too far here.

Class forums:

Warrior: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Guardian: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Necro: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Ele: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Mesmer: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Ranger: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Engineer: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs
Theives: we need more dps, and we are sick and tired of the nerfs

Okay, just kidding – lol

Actually, in between the I quit posts and the whine for more dps, the class forums are full of good suggestions and valid criticisms; and yes, I am fairly sure the Devs read them. In fact, there have been a few changes made to some classes where I firmly believe the ideas sprang from some of the debates on the class forums.

by level 80 should have the best statistical loot in the game.
We want everyone on an equal power base.”

Class forums are terrible. Every class thinks they are the worst and that every patch nerfs their class.

Sure, there’s qq but I bet I could quickly find counterexamples to your claim very easily. There’s a lot of good information in profession forums. You just have to wade theough the swamp of negativity, pretty much like every forum of gw2.

Edit: Top ranger thread right now is an anti-QQ thread. See what I mean?

Class forums are terrible. Every class thinks they are the worst and that every patch nerfs their class.

Each has such posts because no class is entirely fulfilling in all four game modes (yes four, instanced and open world PvE play completely different).

For example, I haven’t seen any posts in the necro forum complaining about PvP since their recent buffs, hardly seen any complaints in the warrior forums about PvE since launch.

A complaint in the class forums is not necessarily a complaint about the entire class. And depending on the mode, each and every class has completely viable grievances.

There are some legitimate class-forum posts….a few….maybe 1 or 2…..

Ok, it’s mostly filled with whines about past nerfs and speculations about future nerfs. But there are some good discussions and ideas that arise from build posts.

The devs would be better off starting a thread in each class forum covering a single class-specific topic and opening discussion. Much like they plan on doing with broader topics for PvE, WvW, and PvP. I’m hoping that as these threads become successful sources of community feedback, class-specific ones will start. Eventually, we might see a new team of Anet employees whose sole purpose is to familiar with the community voice and discuss issues and feed it all to the devs.

Of course they do. Given their overall high level of interaction on these forums I am confident that even if they are not responding in the individual class forums on a day to day basis that they are monitoring and aware of what is being said.

We share apocalyptic views, how comforting that we see it too.

Class forums often have suggestions on how to quickly and easily fix many of the major issues found in the classes however they are very confusing because people often don’t post which aspect of the game they are referring to so I think they are disorganized and they need four tiers to post in WvW sPVP World PVE and Dungeon PVE because there are different needs for each player type and they need a clear method of posting for these problems to be addressed evenly.

It’s unfair because there are also well reasoned threads in them.

I doubt they ignore them entirely, but it would be nice if they popped in a little more often.

Otherwise it seems futile to put any constructive thread there and instead drop it into Spvp forums.
