do legendary weapons have better stats than all the other weapons u can get? or are they only valuable because of their aesthetics?

They do not have better stats than ascended, they have equivalent stats. They are mostly good for a esthetics but you can switch their stats at will when out of combat.

Can never stress this enough, it’s the same as ascended (used to be same as exotic).

As far as aesthetics go, I don’t like any of them, maybe the predator, but none of my chars uses a rifle on a regular basis. I honestly never saw the appeal from the beginning.
The bragging rights took a hit when you could start selling them, and now is completely gone with champ train and dungeon sellers.

Out of combat stat switching is one of the biggest features of Legendary weapons. If you grind through Ascended gear and decide you want to change your build, you’ll have to grind another set — except for the Legendaries you possess.

Something AN have gotten right is that no player is forced to get a Legendary weapon to achieve BIS.

Everything else about Legendaries are wrong though

legendary weapons have the same stats as ascendent weapons (rare→exotix→ascendent/legendary)

you can howerver change your stats at will with a legendary

as in, double click on it and pick a set of stats you want the legendary weapon to have, play with it for a while then double click it and pick another stat set.

also, flashy footsteps and shiny weapon!

Also they will always be “best in Slot”

So if arena Net decides to add another tier of gear, the legendaries will automatically get boosted.

If you don’t like the skins. get them anyway if you would like to and reskin them. you now know that you will always have the best available weapon stat wise. Big reason I am going for more.
