GW1 offered a new reward for each birthday until the game was updated to run on autopilot (i.e. no new rewards or coding). Presumably, the same thing will happen with GW2.

That’s fine. I just deleted 7 of 9 classes (including the thief I made the day the servers went live) most of whom already got their 4th birthday stuff so I could “fix” random things I didn’t like about them.
It’s one way to artificially create more content to do.

I KNEW IT!!!! ARENANET HAS BEEN PLOTTING AGAINST ME FROM THE VERY START!!!! If my toons were to have a 5th birthday……..ALL OF TYRIA MIGHT TURN INTO FECES!!! They obviously forsaw this in their predictions.
My necro and mesmer (who are also past the 4th birthday) survived the culling, but there were a few I just really felt like changing. Only 4 of the 7 that met their end recently were over 4 years. The other 3 (ele, eng and rev) have had several iterations and kept getting rerolled cause I didn’t feel they were right (name, race, design, something?).
The only real /ugh moment was the thief who I made the first day. Was done with everything, had all bag slots open, that one kind of smarted.

And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest one there was coming over to him and he was mean ‘n’ ugly ‘n’ nasty ‘n’ horrible and all kind of things and he sat down next to him, And he said, “Kid. What are you here for?” And he answered, “I deleted some alts in a video game”
and they all moved away from him on the bench.

Instead of “new” minis what you get for a birthday present now is a token to go and get a mini from what ever year you want. So if you are missing a few you can try for those.
