“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Do you buy boosters?
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Boosters I reckon are only there when you’ve bought yourself a bunch of gems, bought a load of Character Slots, Outfits, Gathering Tools or whatever for the big present to yourself, and then you have a few gems left over, and think shrug I’ll just get some Karma booster with the loose change.
I’ve never bought a booster myself though.
Nope
Never bought one, ever. Have stacks and stacks in the bank. I use them to level new toons, if I didn’t instant-80 them from tomes, etc
I’m sure I bought a few when I first started, mostly XP and magic find ones. But then I started using BL keys (some purchased, some farmed) and ended up with so many boosters from there that I’m sure it would take me a long time to use them all.
I actually find most of them pretty useless. You can’t use any armor or regen boosters where you really need them (PvP/WvW). With account wide luck and omnomberry bars the magic find boosters are not necessary. I think the XP boosters coupled Killstreak XP boosters are a good way to increase speed of leveling. The karma boosters could be handy if you’re new and really want to bump your karma quickly (and play lots of WvW). Those are the only ones I might be tempted to purchase if I really wanted to buy boosters. But even then, I’m sure it doesn’t cut down leveling by hours, so you certainly don’t NEED them.
No. And I’ve been playing since launch.
Acrobatics trait line. Then sell it back
to them for $50. Brilliant! – ghost of P.T. Barnum
I use the ones I get as drops, haven’t and won’t buy one.
I’m not sure how much my guildmate spend on the gemstore. But every time a new black lion weapon come out, he would have 30+ black lion ticket for sell.
I presume he got a bunch of booster that way.
I think the reason no one suggested booster for power leveling is because it’s probably much cheaper to just craft your way to leveling instead of buying booster from gem store. Those booster are not cheap.
Have never bought a booster (besides the occasional free ones in the promotional tab), and the only boosters I have ever used are magic find and crafting.
Never bought a booster but I have quite a few of them stacked up.
Never bought any. Rarely even use the ones that come from BL or AP chests, except maybe the wxp ones, or the gathering ones.
Nah. Never bought any and the ones gotten in game sit in the bank taking up space. Birthday boosters get used and when I was levelling crafters the crafting boosters.
I bought some Karma boosters once when I was making legendaries, but that was it. Most of the other boosters I got were either from BL chests or story/level rewards.

I’ve got a bunch of them from key farming and I rarely use them. The buffs are small and it doesn’t feel like it’s worth bothering with them. The only ones I sometimes use are the karma one and the harvesting one (extra harvest and a speed buff). I wouldn’t ever buy them. Not worth it.
I think they are there just because traditionally mmo’s have them. I don’t use them, have tons sitting in my bank. Even the enchantment powders I gave up on after a while since I just could not be bothered to keep up with the new boosters I got as drops from various things.
I might have bought a booster at some point, I don’t recall. My answer may as well be no, in that case.
Nope. I’ve got stacks of them stashed away from chests and map completes. I’m not even sure if I’ll ever go through them all.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
Never.
I don’t buy them.
I do use the crafting boosters for leveling up crafts, they’re useful and some of the experience boosters can be handy while leveling, but not for gems.
I have all my boosters from key farming.
Never bought or used any.
I mostly don’t even use the boosters i’ve got now and then .. only recently on my last
characters i transmuted some into kill-streak boosters to level faster on yellow mobs.
Ahh .. and i used the crafting booster whenever i leveled a new character.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I trash boosters, waste of inventory space
I remember the …discussions… about Boosters being in the Gem Store before launch, and how heated the comments about how the game would be pay-to-win, etc. Lol.
Now look at Boosters. It would probably be difficult to give them away.
No, I have never purchased any; I have loads sitting in the bank, and on characters. I never seem to remember to actually use them.

Oh yeah .. always funny what people call P2W these days

I don’t know what to do with the boosters that I’m given, so I just eat them. They’re like almost completely worthless. Would never buy boosters myself.
Never bought/used one.
Level with crafting – especially since the stupid NPE
Fight the queens
I have used a booster or two on occasion but I have never bought any. I have played since launch and have now several hundreds taking up space in my bank. Yes, I am a packrat.
If anyone actually do buy them from the TP I just want to say “Thank you for supporting Anet and the game.”
To me the buffs aren’t even interesting enough for me to bother use the free ones I have in my bank, that’s how important I think boosters are…
I too have a bank tab full of boosters that I can never be bothered to use, so the thought of buying any of that junk with cash is somewhat perplexing.
But even if there were some that may be of use to some people under some circumstances the value for money is so spectacularly bad I can’t imagine they would sell any.
Nope, never, theyre a waste of money/gold. Still have a ton of booster crap from the occasional Black Lion Key drop that i dont use up.
Either
-i always think theyre too precious and i dont want to waste them (like wvw boosters), -theyre absolutely worthless cause the currency is worthless (karma boosters)
-they just dont work for most of the things you’d want them to (MF boosters).
-theyre just useless (swim boost)
-orthey turn the game into an awful hurry (Killstreak booster)
I used a lot of crafting boosters to get from 400 to 500 tho. But i havent bought any of those either, the ones from the chests were enough.

Nope.
Bought some occasionally, not in the shop but at the laurels vendor when I started and before the new dailies, now those I get free besides Karma, Crafting and Magic find I sprinkle with magic conversion powder.
and suffer one’s share of evils, than to fear
what might happen.
I’m buying a stack of 25 of black lion keys every few months. The boosters I get from there are sufficient for me.
Well, I guess that’s a resounding no.
I might save a link to this thread to send to the next person who tells me they’re worried about this.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I’ ve never bought one.
Anet is Always clueless about what gw2 community truly wants.
Look at balance state now…
look at guild vs guild ( Stronghold?^ ah ah ah and they call it GvsG )
Look at ranger pets ( broken)
Conclusion:
I’ ve never bought a booster and i will never buy any gems.
Especially since the introduction of the gobbler, there’s no need to buy a booster ever again.
Especially since the introduction of the gobbler, there’s no need to buy a booster ever again.
I didn’t buy that for the same reason – I already have more than enough boosters so it just seemed like a waste of gems.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Nah, I stockpile them in my bank when they come out of the BLC.
I dont buy them and I have never used a booster either.
Virtually all consumable gem store items/boosts are very much worthless in my opinion.
Though I admittedly HATE the very concept of consumables in real money shops.
I gladly spend gems to buy permanent upgrades but I wouldn’t buy the kittenty boosters at a 90% sale.
Hell no I’d never waste money on things like this haha.
I’ve never bought one. I wish they’d stop giving them to me. I have almost an entire row of a bank tab filled with them, and that’s after I started deleting killstreak, strength, and rejuvenation boosters as I got them. And the dust you get from chests on occasion doesn’t help because it just creates another booster set to sit in a slot. Silly boosters.
I try to use that npc next to the market npc to combine boosters and more to get a kind of booster I might want but it’s got to many rules to what applies to what so I never get what I want.
I don’t craft so I don’t need crafting speed. Gathering speed is silly because gathering is done while questing and fighting mobs. What is the point of a couple of seconds of speed when you have to stop to fight everything? The speed is worn off by the time you actually need it. I could go on down the line about how useless these boosts are to beginner players. Yet my bank is full of free handouts. Do high levels use these things?
So no I will not be buying any from the cash shop. Gawd I wish I could sell them. Useless.
Really I think starting a thread on how to make boosters more useful to low levels might be in order. Like maybe have an inventory tab on your character where you can store ALL ACCOUNT BOUND ITEMS and it’s not related to any d*mn bag you have to buy from the bank. Then an option to auto-use boosters on this tab so you don’t have to bother even thinking about them being there. They waste time I could be thinking about something better.
No, I get enough when I open chests every 3-6 months (key sale).
RIP City of Heroes
I have some ~140 booster left from levelling and 900 days worth of BL keys dropping and the few (XP/MF) I bought.
I still have
26 enchanted combat boosts
23 strength boosters
17 armor boosters
14 regen boosters
3 speed boosters (where do you think my enchanted combat boosts come from?)
11 crafting boosters
9 harversing boosters
14 MF boosters (I catually tend to use ‘m when farming, but I loathe farming so I tend to stack ’m after a while I actually bought 5 during the LA events)
20 karma boosters, I used to save up bottles and I use one if I go into EotM, but it happens only rarely, if I’m in WvW I prefer BL, sometimes EBG
12 XP boosters (I use them when levelling, and It one of the few I actually bought when on sale, they synergize with laureate booster, candy corn icecream and utility.)
9 kill streak booster (they might be usefull but other then orr or hirathi hinterlands they tend to lose quite some value.)
I bought experience boosters twice. But I tend to refrain from doing so now, as we now have birthday boosters and celebration boosters.
When do I use them?
I popped an armor booster, a strength booster and a rejuv booster once with a nomads/clerics build in WvW which was hilarious…
I sometimes use it to do extremely short timers on my hybrid warrior. (so I can solo all content on a condition based build with some power), It was more neccesary when I was still using rabid/rampager, but now I generally do not need them as often or at all now I have sinister/sinister.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
I tend to forget to use consumables in any MMO, and especially in GW2 where you have to go to a bit of effort to have them and remember them at the right time on the right character. A compounding problem lies in my hesitation to use something up if I’m not sure I won’t want it more later. I don’t even buy food off the TP or use it except when it’s dropped. If I’m leveling an alt I will use XP and killstreak boosters when I remember, and the Celebration and Birthday ones as well. I tend to store armor and regen boosters on my dungeon guardian, occasionally remembering to eat them at a dungeon start.
I’ve spent quite a bit on the gem store but the only consumables I’ve paid for have been keys and dye kits.
I don’t really buy boosters either, I usually only buy outfits, minis, perma gathering tools, bank expansions, or in-game coin
They are not even worth using.
I will keep storing them until they are changed to give a guaranteed effect that triggers on use instead merely being effects applied on a character with timers.
If I use a crafting booster, the next X thngs I craft should be affected by it.
Right now, if I pop a crafting booster and a guildie asks me for help, the time I’m playing with that character in the dungeon is wasted.
So paying for boosters is wasting gems.
I’ve never purchased boosters, but I do get a ton of them from BL chests, dailies, and other random sources. And I do use them, especially the karma ones/magic find boosts for event chains, and the XP/killstreak ones for leveling. Sometimes the gathering boosters as well. I’m thankful for the option to convert them to enchanted boosts, because they can take up a lot of bank space.
Nope. The only booster I generally use is the magic find one. I’ve appreciated being able to turn other boosters into magic find through the vendor though, as I too had a bank tab full of them. Now instead of a bank tab I just have 2 slots in my inventory.
It seems I’m in good company. I’ve only used one of the free ones and the rest are just sitting in my bank. The one I used was a crafting booster to get weaponsmithing from 400 to 450 as cheaply as possible.
I’ve appreciated being able to turn other boosters into magic find through the vendor though, as I too had a bank tab full of them.
I had no idea we could convert boosters. Its amazing how much stuff I still learn about this game while reading the forum.
