Do you guys have a good "test creature"?
Karka, especially those big veterans, mordrem and saurians. The champ centaur in snowden is a pretty good gauge for me. If I cant solo him on a downscaled toon, Im usually set up in an unbalanced way.
I’m not a good enough player to solo dungeons or fractals and use that as a gauge.

You are now, with the breakbars and power creep they’re stupidly easy.

The bristlebacks around Eastwatch in Auric Basin are a good test of survivability.
Damage you can test against anything that doesn’t have a ranged attack or gap-closer. There are several champions you can solo this way, even in level 80 zones. Rotbeard for example.

Haha, I doubt it, but I’ll bear that in mind!
Champion Effigy in the Molten Duo fractal is an option.
Easily accessible and you can “set” the difficulty to some degree.
Benefit of additional add on mobs if you like.
For some classes it might just be testing if a fish can climb a tree. It’s hard to test how good the build for you class if you’re something like a druid or chronomancer.
Still prefer the HotM test dummies myself. They’re also the most fun enemies in the game to fight against.

There are some champs that anyone can tackle. The champion ice wurms in the Silverpeaks are easy because all they do is spit rocks at you from range, which is dodgeable. They also bite, knockdown, and tunnel at melee which is also dodgeable.
ANet may give it to you.
The Veteran Jade armors and Jade Bows in Ember Bay are some of the most engaging veteran mobs.
Man i used to love the old moss man swampland fractal for learning a new class on. Dude was a DPS sponge so you got a reasonable amount of time to just keep rolling through your rotations, he moved a bit so gave you some idea of how that would effect things and he had one attack that you still had to keep an eye out to dodge.
Tequatl…. because i am too awesome!

asuras are good test creatures
