Guild Wars 2

It’s on the ArenaNet blog, dated April 27th, 2010 by Mike O’Brien.

I thought it would be an appropriate time to start some discussion about whether the game has met the standards that the studio set for themselves.

Please remember that a lot of opinion will hinge on the interpretation of the intent of the design manifesto (A Manifesto is a declaration of intention and motive, it is not a statement of explicit rules).

Did you read that blog entry prior to the game (or even its beta)? Does the game live up to your expectations with regard to the manifesto?

It’s too early to tell, and you’re not going to get a serious discussion while everyone is up in arms about Ascended gear, which we only have sketchy details on.

Wait another six months to a year. When the game has matured and settled in, then we have a chance at a real discussion over whether they lived up to the manifesto or not.

I watched the video literally every single day for 8+ months. I used to be my favorite one they put out, and I linked it so many times to get guildies interested.

Yeah right that whole video is a bunch of lies.

It sounded good at the time. Clearly reality doesn’t match and it’s going downhill with enhancements already.

ANet is a business. They exist to make money. Reality is money. Utopian dreams are vapor.

omg its not pretty….

i still like gw2 as a game.
but GOSH, this is close to being false advertising.
