Does a jump dodge take you a further distance than a normal dodge does?

It takes you further than a normal jump but not further than a normal dodge.

It was one of things I had to learn for SAB tribulation mode and it saved my behind quite a few times. It should take you a bit farther then a normal jump would. Unless they really changed that function since SAB Back to School update was out.

It does take you further, yes.
Personally I just use it with my jedi and hero RP characters to look cool

That.

The distance travelled in terms of a dodge vs a jump+dodge is identical. The only advantage you gain there is that you can jump over something while also dodging, but distance-wise its all the same.

I’ve used it to make jumps on jumping puzzles that would otherwise require swiftness so the increased distance is near that of what swiftness would offer.

Pets have been hidden due to rising Player complaints.

To put it simply,

Dodge has no ‘’Movement speed’’ penalty, thus in some cases it allows players to travel further than simply jumping forward, … especially in combat.

I’ve always assumed that dodging is equal to non-combat + swiftness. Doing a dodgeroll jump will not make you move farther if you are already out of combat and have swiftness.

Err,

Regarding Lunatic Inquisition minigame where players were getting up onto the ledge/cliff to hide from enemy players (ghosts?) whom had reduced movement speed… Ghosts could still get to that ledge by dodge + jump rolling as it made them move faster to reach that ledge and yeah, I feel like jumping and dodging at the same time kinda makes things faster/further.

Destroyer boss in CoE P3 always proved me that dodgeroll allows me to jump the platforms and normal jump doesn’t – no difference in or out of combat.

Dodge-jumping was a requirement in a lot of the SAB tribulation mode parts. Now I use it without thinking. Dodge-jump is totally the way to go to clear large gaps.

The distance is indeed that of a normal dodge, which is farther than a standard jump.

I won’t stop because I can’t stop.
