Was doing wvsw tonight and I get pm’d terrible insults from 1 enemy player for no apparent reason. Didn’t respond, just Blocked. Later I get a random mailbox message and again….terrible insults from enemy player for killing someone while we were capping stuff. Didn’t respond, just Blocked. And then again later on in the night I get another terrible message from another enemy player, who jumped me and started to 1v1 me. He instant messages me in the middle of the fight. I was taken aback that he did it so fast. He obviously goes out of his way to be toxic to people for fun…. he was really bad player though so I didn’t really care.

I mean if I don’t respond to these players at all…and never have EVER in the past. And it’s in wvsw where they are an enemy borderland. And I always just block then report for verbal abuse…..will anet do anything about it? In such a situation it becomes very apparent that the person being reported is in the wrong and they were abusing another player without provocation.

I never get that many toxic messages over and over from enemy players. it was weird. Every single one of the hate messages were from Northern Shiver Peaks….rude borderland. I’d be lucky to get 1 hate message per week of wvsw’ing from an enemy bl. Now on opening night I get 3 from a single bl all in the course of an hour or so.

I kill you in one gunflame, or I kill you in two.

In all my playtime as a sometimes anal dungeon/fractal player, occassional troll, rage outbursts in pvp, occassional pms in GW2, I have never had anyone sent me a toxic mail. Stuff that I don’t want to read, I just simply blocked. People block me alot too. It’s so odd that there’s this sudden stream of comments regarding in-game mail, even with the spam block mechanism. Conspiracy?

It’s PVP, it’s where most of the sociopaths who play MMOs hang out, and yes, Anet do ban but it seems not until the idiot doing it has upset many people.

Yes they do ban abusive players, either temporarily or in some cases (usually for repeat offenses) permanently.

You can tell because then those people (on 2nd accounts) or their friends come to this forum to complain. And a lot of the topics get edited or deleted for verbal abuse, which doesn’t exactly help their case.

It’s been stated that some of the punishments are as light as 3-6 hours. Assuming the clock starts ticking immediately, the slob might log in after the time period and never know the penalty was levied.
