Well.. after watching this video, I don’t think so (NCSoft)..

To make it short, when you buy something in the store, your cash is going to NCSoft, which is free to spend it on GW2, or any other NCSoft Game…
Few days ago NCSoft announced that they just begun thinking about an expansion to the game…
so they have just been waiting the whole time …

too early for an expansion, if it comes out in 2014.

Id rather Anet spend the time to get things straight with the current game (bugged events/traits/skills/etc.), then spend the time on an expansion really :-\.

That video is made by a very uneducated person when it comes to this matter.
Ncsoft owns Anet, therefore all the money goes to them and then they pay Anet developers wages. So yes, the money does go to Anet.

I understand what you are saying. Basically GW2 profit don’t necessary goes back to the development of GW2. It might be to other NCsoft games.

But you also need to understand capitalism. If GW2 is making money, NCsoft will want to keep it that way and put in the money to make GW2 a better game. That is if GW2 is making money.

There are quite a few mmorpg closed by NCsoft and we know why, they arn’t making money.

Isn’t this the third time we have seen this video in the last week or 2? I thought Dontain had been debunked as yet another conspiracy nut..

I’ve decided that if its true that NCsoft gets the money first and then distributes it among other games I’m going to start sending my gem purchases directly to John Smith :P Maybe Gaile cause shes awesome. I would be like “I would like to support arenanet directly, and want my money to go straight to you guys. But first, open these 6 boxes to see if you got anything this week.” I kid I kid :P Seriously though, an expansion won’t happen till after Wildstar. And gem store sales are doing good, NCsoft better be feeding our people in the big box.

well if they wouldn’t be feeding the developers Anet wouldn’t be hiring – it would be firing people (remember that noone works for free).
