The last two feature packs seem to be aimed at new players. Is anet expecting a sudden influx of new players due to an expansion?

Or is it just wishful thinking?

What do you guys think and why?

It’s just speculation but as nothing else exciting going on in this game why not speculate a lil bit?

Could be anything at this point. Expansion, release in a new market, going f2p… who knows really. It’s certainly plausible that it could be an expansion, just not sure how probable.

I really don’t think they’re going to do an expansion. They’ve been pretty clear in the past that it is not a direction they intend on going. And I really don’t think the middle of Season 2 is good point for an expansion.

Well they just released in China and these features were meant to make their intro to the game go smoother, and it took them very little time to port that stuff here I would think.

However, there have been many clues to something big on the horizon, and there has been for a very long time. So this may be ANet getting double mileage out of the work it took to create these features.

Maybe, but I highly doubt it. My hope for something like the campaigns/expansions ala those from GW1 was still alive during season 1 of the LS, but what with Mordy being part of the LS I have more or less lost hope. I would love it though.

Maybe it will be something else… along the lines of it, but different?

My question is: Does Anet have the manpower to do both the Living Story and feature pack updates, release in China… AND have a team working on an expansion in the background. Wouldn’t today have been the optimal time to announce it?

Considering how long it took to make GW2, I don’t believe they have the current staff to make even half of that and do all the other stuff they’ve done over the last two years.

I wish. I want an expansion more than anything else.
