As the title says.. does it worth it spending so much time crafting your gear (when the ascended armor is comming in game) while they do drastic changes in traits/ skills which affects deeply your build. Most of the casual players spend month or so to gather materials for their build in wvw and then you simply get trait changes which.. let’s say make your build useless or change it in a way you don’t like it.. There you go you start it from 0 farming again for your new build but again when you reach your goal you face another patch with another trait rebuild. Maybe it’s possible to give players an item or something which is account bound or even character bound which resets your armor stats after every patch with big changes in traits/skills ?

If you compare the price of actual exotics armor to the soon to be ascended armor, it’s like, should I spend 10 silver to full stuff green while making exotic ? It’s 10s, do as you want…

It’s not the price it’s the time, the effort you put in something that should reward you. Right now it feels like endless grind for gear. Adding higher tiers of gear in other mmos in order to keep the player base and “improve the end game” you can easily compare with the changes you get in traits in GW2 which force you to switch your build (farm for another set with different stats so often). Ofc you can say “adapt” to it, change a bit your build so it fits with the new patch changes but why? Those changes are not made by you, you can’t predict them, the least you deserve is a chance to swap your stats on your armor you spend so much time getting, else it’s a time wasted and time is money. I have no idea what materials will ascended armors need but let’s look at the weapons u have few materials which u can craft once per day. You need 6 days for them(greatsword) if you have the materials for 6 lumps and 3 of the wood ones (can’t remember the name) w/e add to those 6 days the time you farm those materials or the gold to buy them, now add that you need to craft from 2 to 4 different weapons, by the time you craft them you get patch changes which may cause you to retrait/ change your build which may lead to few things – staying with the same stats on weps, same weps different stats (you need to craft them again), different build with different weps (crafting again). It will be the same with the armor probably. Add that there are new players to the game which are yet to start gathering materials and gold so they can keep up with the rise in the economy from the start. All the anti-grind theory seems to be forgotten somewhere on the way. So all i’m asking is does it worth it? Where is the fun in that? Will it be a gamebreaker if they give you the chance to change at least the stats on the ascended gear (not talking about exotics, greens etc they are pretty easy to get) after every big balance patch?

I would say Ascended gear isn’t worth the effort unless you simple want BiS because you want BiS.

It doesn’t change anything in PvE: if your party sucks, it still sucks even in Ascended gear. WvW is too chaotic and imbalanced to be affected much by this.
