Does legendary armor worry anyone else?
When entering combat, you’ll become a beacon of your heroic deeds as the armor set comes to life, animating around you.
Wasn’t one of the more common complaints about the game the fact that it has too many particle effects thrown around the screen blocking peoples’ vision of the enemies?
I’m worried about the point a year down the line when most people have a piece of legendary armor and we’ll be unable to see literally anything that’s going on during world events.
You think that’s bad, just wait til you’re with several Charr or Norn that have those view blocking wings AND have Legendary armor and weapons.

Last Saturday, with the raid announcement. They also talk about it here. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/designing-challenging-content/
I’m not worried. If I don’t like the look, I’ll skin over it.

I don’t think it’ll be any worse than the weapons.
Honestly, I think a limited number of people will be using the armor’s original skin anyways, because if there’s only one legendary skin per armor class, like with ascended, then people will prize their own uniqueness over wearing a full set of it.
As for the particle effects and such, I doubt they’ll want to have them clash with the weapon ones, so I don’t expect to see footfalls or anything like that, unless one overrides the other.
I more or less expect the legendary armor to have a self-contained effect, like the AP armor skins do. If there IS a full aura or something, it might be a full set bonus or something like that, so you’d see it rarely.

Dont worry.
Weve been there for quite some time.
If they start making BOSSES actually what BOSSES need to be (HUGE) then we wont have to worry about these things.
In gw2 most bosses are tiny as the players (looking at you taidha and svanir shaman) and in massive battles (10+) you start losing animations and stuff from it.
What needs to be done is making champions and bosses largely bigger than actual players. (300% the size of a huge norn, and start from there.).
‘most people’ will not have legendary armor, just as ‘most people’ do not have legendary weapons; people who keep whining how ‘everyone’ has legendary weapons have a group of people they constantly play with each of which have a legendary weapon; believe me this isn’t ‘most’ people.
just turn down details on other ppl’s armor and turn down number of char models displayed to lowest, and you’ll stop seeing most people altogether. Turn off name plates too. it’s great. you can be in a zerg and only see 10 people around and if you turn off npc nameplates too you can’t even know half the time if they are real ppl or npc’s :P
Character Model Limit: Lowest
Nope not worried. The problem with particle effects is on enemies not allies anyway.
