Does this mean another 2 month break?
While I dont want to start the rumor mill going, perhaps instead of a break, we’ll have a few weeks of attention for LA? Sorta like a reverse “attack on LA” episode.
I certainly don’t want to see such a long break so soon, but I hope you don’t think they’ve been working at regular pace over the holidays… Lots of people have lots of different vacation hours, so it’s entirely possible for there to have been 2 or 3 weeks of very little getting done, on account of important people not being present.
You have to understand that people in the working world are not robots, though it does feel that way sometimes..
Probably another WvW tournament. We’re up to season 6 now or was it 4?
I asked that before the holidays but nobody gave me an answer. Where did Anet announced that episode 8 would be the end of season 2???? That the last update where we gonna have luminescent armor, but that’s it no? I don’t know, maybe there is something that I miss.
For me, its only gonna be the last update in silverwaste. My guess is that on january 20, we will have a new map, farther in Magguma waste.

I was under the impression that Anet was staffed entirely by various “-O-Trons” who worked on whatever task was given as their first name.
It’s possible there will be a break and there is no reason for there not to be. Problem is kitten ed if they so, kitten ed if they don’t right now. Many complained at regular content, many are now complaining at lack of content.
It could well be that whatever the finale sets up next Tuesday, we are given us content which will last through for a while. That’s my hope anyway – the trailer was unforthcoming.
I would assume that this will be a month long episode, and then come April they will bring another Feature patch that brings some new content they’ve been squirreling away. As for the two months between I like the idea of Lions Arch rebuilding Aidan Savage posted, but who knows. It does seem odd that they’re ending it so early…seemed like there was a lot more last season. But I don’t think they would start another season until July.

Hah! I really want to believe this could be true. “Whoops, looks like they found another broken farming spot. Roll out the Nerf-O-Tron!”
My guess would be that we’ll find out what’s gonna happen w/ S2 and after on Jan 24 at Pax South.

It was announced today with the teaser trailer:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/trailer-point-of-no-return-begins-january-13/
“The time for truth has come: the “Point of No Return” release brings Season 2 of the Living World to a finale on Tuesday, January 13.”
They could also hop right into season 3 or a feature patch fixing all of those bugs that people have been complaining about.
For the next few weeks, level 80 looters, hobos and bums led by a legendary bandit known only as The Whiskey King will spawn throughout Lion’s Arch. These will be hostile mobs that will not drop loot, though if they are not repelled via participation in the events that will be released with them, they will begin to claim portions of Lion’s Arch for themselves and begin construction of a shanty towns from the rubble.
If the playerbase can rally and drive the Whiskey King and his army of outcasts and ne’er-do-wells away (less than 25% total daily average time in which Lion’s Arch’s zones are held by the Whiskey King’s forces), the survivors led by the player heroes will successfully hold the ruin, and staunch headway will begin immediately to both fortify and reconstruct it.
The player-voted Captain’s Councillor Ellen Kiel will collect resources in the form of all forms of crafting materials as well as gold, silver and copper currencies to help fund the construction, putting it squarely in the players’ hands as to how lavish and extravagant the rebuilt city will ultimately wind up being.
Just as the real-world Rome wasn’t built in a day, Lion’s Arch’s reconstruction will take place over four weekly updates to the city, each reflecting what the player community pulls together and ultimately supplies and funds the Council to build.
Three possible tiers of reconstruction can be achieved per week (with advancement on a current weeks tier displayed in the HUD as an ongoing area event while in Lion’s Arch), with each week focused on different amenities and magnitudes of aesthetic grandeur.
Take heart! Even if players choose not to give anything or contribute en’masse, Lion’s Arch will still be rebuilt and will offer all the core services a city hub in Guild Wars 2 is meant to provide, though achieving Tier 2 will be able to permanently make the affected zone more richly decorated (and have a direct effect on NPC chatter as well!).
Achieving Tier 3 for a zone will give the art department full leeway to get a little crazy in making the new Lion’s Arch fantastically beautiful, and might bring some additional surprises with it! No promises yet on exactly what the additional surprises might be, though concepts such as NPC karma merchants situated in the affected zones offering armor and weapon skins available nowhere else are on the table, as are new mini-games, several new jumping puzzles and a new guild challenge.
Achieving Tier 3 in all four weeks will absolutely be worth trying for!
(Cont’d below)
If the playerbase cannot or perhaps too frequently refrains from rallying and keeping the squatters repelled for the next two weeks, the future of Lion’s Arch will be in becoming a new open-air dungeon with two story-driven paths for players to explore.
Ruins of Lion’s Arch dungeon projected summary – With the fall of Lion’s Arch into the hands of loosely organized squatters, those selfsame vagrants have undergone a schism with two individuals engaged in a power struggle for leadership of their rabble army.
Path 1 will focus on players playing the role of elite heroes prevailed upon by the outcast survivors of Lion’s Arch to take down the self-titled Whiskey King and his four lieutenants by both destabilizing their side in the squatter’s army conflict as well as beheading their leadership. Beware though! The Whiskey King didn’t come this far in uniting his fellow bandits and the outcasts of Tyria only to be taken down easily, and he has more than one trick up his sleeve that might surprise even veteran players!
Path 1 will not be easy. It might very well be some of the most grueling combat-oriented challenge developed for Guild Wars 2 to date. While it will be possible for players to defeat the Whiskey King and his lieutenants, the hard truth is that it will take significant coordination and skill to do so.
Set aside what you think you know about GW2 dungeons, in other words, and bring your A-game! You’re going to need it if you want to earn chances at the signature Ascended weapons dropped by the lieutenants (each with one-time selectable stat configurations that bind to account at the time of stat selection) or one of the Whiskey King’s collection of Legendary weapons, featuring all new never-before-seen skins focused on motifs of blood and gold!
Path 2 will focus on the Whiskey King’s former second-in-command, Susan ‘Six Fingers’ Strafford. She’s a high-wheeling hard-dealing technical maven with an expertise in firearms, a dishonorable history of past Vanguard service (and subsequent exile) and a driving ambition to overthrow the Whiskey King, rebuild Lion’s Arch into a military garrison and command her own proper army.
She’s done a fine job of securing the aid of many that count themselves as enemies of the throne, with dark rumors that the White Mantle itself has thrown its weight behind her. PC’s taking Path 2 will be tasked with some unprecedented cooperative stealth missions, trying to gather information without being discovered. The longer the PC’s can maintain their cover, the deeper into Six Fingers’ affairs they’ll be able to dig before the flames of battle are forced to ignite!
Rewards in Path 2 will be availableno matter how players approach the stealth option (teams will not be forced to take the stealthy approach), though there will not be any individual loot drops from the bosses they will face. Face them for the fun, the challenge, the satisfaction of putting them in their graves or just for the achievements (each will have their own, for you achievement collectors out there!)
In the end, battle can never be entirely avoided, and the PC’s will have to confront Six Fingers when the shocking depth of both her ambitions and their potential reach comes to light!
Path 2 will not be tuned to the same extremity as Path 1, though the rewards will be scaled down commensurately. But take heart! For those finding Path 1 too difficult, victory in Path 2 can earn players access to some of the same skins (in the form of Exotic weapons) that Six Fingers has (admittedly inferior) copies of in her trove of loot.
Six Fingers and her crew might be the underdogs compared to the Whiskey King and his miscreant mob, but don’t take them lightly!
And into the pit of wishful thinking was this post tossed. The author of this post does not represent ArenaNet and is in no way affiliated with NCSoft, ArenaNet or any holding, subsidiary or property thereof. This post is in no way intended to be taken seriously, except perhaps by any devs reading it, and then only as a bunch of ideas they’ll probably ignore anyway
cough..Dragon Bash.. cough
My guess would be that we’ll find out what’s gonna happen w/ S2 and after on Jan 24 at Pax South.
this
The season will wrap, ArenaNet will be silent for four weeks, we’ll find out that there’s a Feature Patch coming in April that will introduce a bunch of new features and major overhauls to existing systems, followed by an announcement for WvW tourny 4 running May-June, and LS 3 starting in August.
Just my guess.
If they end living story right now completely with one living story blow it either has to be massively big, or it will be huge dissapointment. Even the end battles of season 1 took like 4-5 episodes. And this would be 1-3 end episodes. Very weak if you ask me. The dragon barely has awokened, there there’s tons of lore to be told. If this is truly the end it must be superior big patch or fail patch. Very dissapointing. I expected at least 3-5 more episodes.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
Feature patch about 3-4 weeks after the next update coupled with a WvW tournament. Then S3/random huge event about 6 weeks later or an expansion (announced closer to the feature patch) that is released sometime this year.
Gates Of Madness
Jewelcrafting to 500!
we will go on break anet will announce they have big plans, get new gem store items no more ls for 6 months
Let’s work the living story towards repairing LA please

Yarrr, thar be schedules in the deep waters of the internets.
Yeah, break untill the release of the expansion on the 26th April for the 10 years anniversary of GW1 (yeah I’m dreaming and hoping at the same time).

I just hope we get to vote Ellen Kiel off the Council….

Months ago, Evon Gnashblade collected quite a bit of money from us to help rebuild LA when we did Pavilion 2.0. I am sure the interest alone has made him even more wealthy than he already is.

All confiscated by Ellen Kiel.

Even if an expansion is announced it won’t be in april. That’s way too soon. Anet will hype it up for at least 6 months.
