I think we’ve waited long enough for the opening up of Dominion of Winds. I think it’s time to start ushering the living world towards unlocking it. Yes I understand it won’t be an overnight thing, but we need some progression, and I think this would be the perfect place to do it.

I’ve come to terms that Tengu will never be a playable race, sadly enough. But imagine all the new lore and content we could get from just that small area of the map!
Open those gates, let us explore it!

~Surrender fiend and you will get an easy death

Was that ever actually stated? In their interviews over the years I can’t recall ArenaNet ruling out additional races – they even indicated they’d consider them a few times. I just know nothing will happen anytime very soon.

Either way, anything DoW-related would probably have to wait until Miss Scarlet has had her day… I’d probably be happier if they worked on it behind the scenes for a while before actually releasing anything so it could be done justice. It needs a new architectural style, probably a whole bunch more armor/weapon skins, not to mention they’re going to need a lot more than one character model, one voice, and two skins to make tengu seem like a real race rather than the world’s biggest copypasta job. Oh, which reminds me, the animations would also need to not be pretty much copied from charr.

Honestly though, I’d rather wait another three years and get something playable than one and wind up with just NPCs again. We already got that in GW1

Just a random PuGgle.

You sound reasonable. The problem is, this game is not really going to attract anyone for another 3 years with its below-average LS content… It’s already 1.5 years old and nothing “big” has happened so far, although I liked some additions.

Three 80-lvl Rangers. Why? ‘Cos they’re that cool.

Hmm… true, I can’t see the present model working indefinitely without doing something big. There are other options than opening the Dominion for that, though – the most obvious involving some dragons I hear are still out there

Evon Gnashblade has been walking around the BLTP instead of standing in place. When talking to him, he complains about how Kiel has sent a buncha Lionguard to Caledon. Caledon is the map with the largest border with the Dominion of Wind’s wall. Could Scarlet be attacking the Tengu next? Tengu 2014? Scarlet as main villain for Tengu personal story? You heard it here first!

Considering we know the date that Scarlet’s involvement with GW2’s plot ends most likely not…

Well, the Lionguard went to Caledon to deal with the new TA path. So that’s old news, as it were. It still could segue into a push into the Dominion.

We have no reason to push into the DoW. The Tengu would pretty much hate everyone for that. The only reasons we would be going there is if the Tengu finally decided to join our cause and opened the gates (most likely option since there have been more and more Tengu around e.g. in LA for Wintersday), or they let us in because the Destroyers have started wreaking havoc on their city and they need help.

Sorry, semantics. I meant a lore push, not an IC military push. Clearly we’d need Tengu permission. The Lionguard would be first on the spot, though, if Kiel’s been chatting with Tengu.

All speculation on how DoW could happen if ANet wants it to, not me bouncing up and down saying YEA VERILY here it comes!
