So… since it’s very clear that about 1,000,000 things in this game will change over the next few month, I’m tempted to stop playing for a while.

But I kind of like some of what’s happening and don’t really want to stop. But I have to admit, I’ll be upset if someone starting three months from now has a better system to work in than I do as a first responder.

Example: I finished the personal story on my main today and received vendor trash for the dozens of hours I spent.

I suspect this will change later.

But I’ve already spent my time, so if I come back in three months and find that people just starting the game get a sack full of exotics… I’ll be displeased.

So, those of you who definitely plan to stick around: what’s your motivation?

You can stop playing

you cannot really quit since there’s no sub..

but in all honesty the way ArenaNET messed up wuvwuv a huge aspect of their “End Game” tells me they cannot handle GW2 post-launch

they simply cannot

they are in way over their heads and simple fixes specially when it comes to world-vs-world-vs-world which can keep their playerbase playing is simply beyond their capabilities

so no i am not surprised day by day people are stopping playing gw2

it’s … “End Game” is non-existent and wuvwuv shows the complete amateur capabilities of arenanet

Ok, so say you stop playing and come back when the rewards are increased.

Would the total of all the reward/drops etc you recieve over the next few months be equal or greater the the amount of the increase your holding out for? I doubt the increase would be significant enough to make up that shortfall.

For the rewards, they are going to fix them – and are going to try to retroactively fix them for people who have already opened them too.

My motivation: The game is fun, I got my 60 bucks worth for sure, and WvWvW/sPvP is fun. I enjoyed all of the End Game 1-80, as well.. There is simply nothing better on the market atm.

I feel liked I played through a beta once I levelled from 50 to 80. I was writing several bug reports a day. It really soured my outlook on the game, despite the fact that I am having fun. The thing I did for fun ended up turning into someone’s job (a job I was doing at that point). The thing is, someone had to to go through the final areas on the game and try and write detailed bug reports about every bugged out event, event broken skill point, every screwed up personal story quest which wouldn’t complete because it wasn’t tested properly before launch and something obvious and frequently (often guaranteed) repeatable broke and everything stopped. Some people had to have their personal story go off the rails and merge into someone else’s personal story because the pathing was wrong. All these things resulted in the first players having a crappier experience (and many of them continue to do so) so that the people that come later on will have a normal experience. One of the frustrating things is, despite writing all these bug reports and having our personal stories ruined by these bugs, the people who levelled slowly, progressed slowly and didn’t have to experience this stuff will run around the forums calling you a whiner, saying you got your money’s worth or blabbing about how it’s a good game (ironically, often undisputed) when they have no idea how much the game has improved (and continues to do so) because others had the beta experience before they ever got there.

I fully understand the OP. Often it feels like playing through the game now is going to result in me having a worse experience. People avoided playing certain races during the BWEs to avoid spoiling those story lines for launch. Imagine how those people felt when their personal story screwed up and they ended up in the wrong path? There are perks to coming first, cheaper faction armour (temporarily), tonnes of people running around in CoF armour, levelling cooking easily etc. I’ve personally not yet benefited from any of this yet (the exploit banning has me hesitent to touch a lot of this stuff for fear of a ban) but it is there. Someone has to play through the incomplete, the unbalanced, the poorly optimised, the buggy parts of the game so that they do eventually get fixed.

I’ve resolved to play in the lower level areas of the map for now. I think I’ve done my part with the bug reports, I realised the game began to feel like a job when I was reporting bugs every time I moved on to a new event, I was so focused on trying to get every broken thing I came across fixed, I stopped seeing the few things that worked and my experience suffered because of it. The first 40 levels of the game are pretty solid, some bugs here and there but nothing like Orr. Try playing through them, starting alts etc. Progressing a character at level 80 right now is like walking through a mine field of bugs, exploits, dungeon balance problems and evolving game balance. Hopefully the game will be in a much better place in a few months, but until then you’re not alone in feeling like the first experience was the cheap one.

I love how all of your posts is just a bunch of QQ and whine about how horrible this game is, how it’s a pvp game, etc. lmao what are you doing here then? Go play a game that doesn’t make you angry, bro.
