I just put my 300g into mystic forge. It was obtained through playing the game and it is no longer allowed to earn gold in GW2, without using the gem store.

So I went ahead and donated it to the forge.

Thank you Anet, for at least making you’r stance on gaining gold in game clear.

What do you mean by, “it is no longer allowed to earn gold?” AFAIK, there has never been an investment fund ability in GW2. There isn’t even a way to earn interest on my money in the bank.

You should put this in a formal complaint to Anet. Other than that, this discussion has no redeeming value.

The mystic forge is a gamble. The NPC by the forge states as much. You voluntarily gambled your entire savings, and lost. Not to sound mean, but the truth can hurt.

As much as I hate microtransactions, I think I hate it more when people behave as if GW2 has the worst possible system for them. You want to see horrible microtransactions destroying a game? Check out what happened to Runescape with the Squeal of Fortune.

OP, there are a lot of methods to earn money on the game. It just so happens that you either don’t know of them or aren’t making use of the most efficient methods.

Don’t believe he was trying to gamble. He literally just wanted to throw his money away and then get on a soap box to QQ for attention.
