Q:

Hi!
So recently I have bought a gaming mouse which has a double click function. Is it legal to use it? It would help consume essence of luck stacks and other stuff faster. Im useing the official driver which came with the mouse and not downloaded programs.

One press, one activation is the policy. Using the double click function on your mouse is technically against the ToS, though whether or not they’ll actually ban you for that is kind of a grey area.

Technically, yes it is against the rules.

You can just “upcraft” essences of luck using Artificer though.

Yes, it is technically illegal, but there is not a way to check it, and it won’t really give and advantage, just a better quality of life.

One keystroke per action.

I personally define an action as being, for instance, “use the item I’m hovering”. Therefore, in my interpretation of the rule, a macro that double-clicks on a single-item to use it is ok. I think at essences of luck, or box openings. All those require a double-click to be executed, I think a macro can make it one click.

Anet is the decider when it comes to ban/allow, however, whether you personally agree or not.

Exactly, that’s why I emphasized on all of that being my view.

The fact that you’re using the official software that came with the mouse doesn’t mean everything it can do is ok. This is because some of them, for example the official Logitech Gaming Software which is used by all their gaming mice and keyboards can be used to create a fully functional botting program that could play a whole section of the game for you.

Technically a double click function is against the rules, but it’s fairly minor so I can’t see them seriously following up on it.

The real question you should ask yourself is: Am I willing to risk getting a perma ban for this?

If you have to ask “Is this legal?”, most of the time you won’t get an answer until it’s too late. But as others have said, it’s up to Anet if they decide to enforce their ToS on you if you get caught.
