Double XP event - Are you enjoying it?
The double wxp was fun
Just the WvW
R3200+
It was pretty crazy. I got two characters to 80 using level 20 scrolls and the train in EotM.
Nice event. I hope they do it again.
I decided to skip it. Well, mostly because my desktop is broke and I’m waiting for parts to come in… lol
Sorrow’s Furnace
I have to skip it, mostly because work had me by the metaphorical balls all weekend with the schedule. Check it, four to eleven, followed by noon to eleven, followed by three to eleven, followed by one to eleven . . . to be followed by one to eleven again.
Thank God for overtime pay.
I liked it. I got my Necro alt from 30 to 80 playing/crafting.
I haven’t done any yet, been too busy. Its looking like I missed it altogether.
Would you like some hard cheeze with your sad whine?
I only had like 4 hours to play on saturday and sunday, but i popped a Killstreak booster and an XP booster too and got my thief from lvl 45 to 72 by doing map completion. I guess i could’ve done better but……
I’m on the edge about it. I didn’t get to play much this weekend (fortunately?) because of rl obligations, but I did take my level 25 mesmer into Gendarran Fields yesterday afternoon for some mapping and trait hunting, and came out again on level 35 by the time she had Gendarran on 100%.
While I know that many people enjoy fast leveling, I wasn’t too thrilled about it, seeing as how she’s now already pretty over-leveled for mapping Lornar’s, and even large parts of Fields of Ruin (all of which I’ll have her do eventually for the traits). I kind of enjoy exploring maps on-level or slightly under-level, so I’m kind of glad I didn’t do any more exploration/leveling this weekend.
I did enjoy the extra wxp for the couple of hours I was able to spend in WvW on Saturday night though .
I didn’t personally have much use for it, but this weekend was one of the most active times for my guild in months. Many people got alts dozens of levels without too much effort. It was really cool. I miss the weekend events like this that were done in GW1 on a much more regular basis. Hopefully they’ll do more things like this in the future! I think it really helps login. Like randomly each day you get % more tokens from a specific dungeon or dungeon path (as an example).
You kidding?
Level 80 for crafting 4 disciplines to 400? HOLY SKRITT!
Since I got bored of the NPE (1-20 is awesome, 21-40 is ok but 41-60 is hideous) I always level up all the available disciplines to 400 and use 12 ToK to reach lvl 80.
And, though I only “played” a few hours on Sunday (I wasted all Saturday putting orders for mats on the TP and cashing Karma for gold), I got several -most than welcome- Skill Points.
So yes, I really enjoyed this weekend

I managed to get my lv 29 Guardian to lv 41 and my lv 46 Ranger to 57 (highest lvl char yet! Too bad I hate the class). Also got a Necro from 1 to 15.
So I didn’t do much leveling compared to a lot of people since I don’t have any clue what the fastest way to lv is. I just farmed the Harathi Hinterlands Centaur murderfest event with a killstreak and reg. exp booster on my Ranger, and finished Hearts on my others.
I hope they do this again, I want to level a Thief but hate doing all the Hearts and exploration.
Great event, do it again please Anet.
Have to admit…it was a great time. Thanks Arenanet
I rather wish they’d have it more often. Its a great thing to throw out periodically and get people shaking the dust off their regular routines.
Sadly I missed a lot of it because I had to save a galaxy (playing Distant Worlds). Now, that I know that I could have gotten double wxp, too, I am rueing it. I hope they repeat that sometimes.
I don’t play GW2 on the weekends, except late Sunday night. So I only got a couple hours in.
But then again, all my characters are already level 80 anyway, so it really meant little to me anyway. Just more SP gain, I guess.
Now, if it had also included double crafting experience (meaning the experience towards the craft itself, NOT the normal character experience you get FROM raising your crafting level) then that would have been more handy for me, since I still only have 1 profession at 500.
But whatever, I’m sure plenty of people did enjoy it, so I’m certainly not complaining just because it didn’t cater to me specifically.
No Love For Traiters
My alts have been on hold for months due to the screwed-up trait system, so at first I didn’t really pay attention to it and instead played some of my level 80s like I usually do these days. I finally decided to give Dry Top and the Silverwastes a look, and spent most of the weekend there.
On Sunday afternoon, however, I decided to at least dust off the two alts that were “grandfathered” and already had their traits unlocked. The other three that aren’t might as well be empty slots — I can’t stand to play them at all.
Unfortunately, they still don’t get trait points or tier unlocks until absurdly late in the leveling progression, so playing them is still about as interesting as watching paint dry, and I finally gave up after giving them my best Harvard try.
So while I think the idea of the Double XP Weekend was great, it was marred by the scandalously longstanding problem with traits that have kept my alts on ice for almost a year, which ultimately rendered the idea of double XP meaningless.
Sort of like adding an extra ladle of delicious soup to our bowls, but without removing the big, buzzing fly floating in the middle of it.

It was a great event.Now i have 3 80lvl different asura professions.
All my 17 characters were already 80 .. so not much to see here for me, however
some people from my guild had a lot of fun especially with crafting
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.
I said to myself, “I should make another alt this weekend!”
I have all of the classes, but I didn’t have a charr female.
Made another ranger to support my PvP build.
Popped a level 20 scroll and 60 Tomes of Knowledge.
Guess I missed the point.
I’ve never had so much in the game before. Leveling finally feels “right”. I get that level-up “ding!” before the point I get discouraged/bored, and that’s a big reason why I’m having so much fun! I have a lot of characters to level, so I appreciate this event even more =)
I Enjoyed It … Still In My First Week And Getting A Feel For GW2 Since I’ve Never Played GW1.
I definitely enjoyed the double WXP. Pop a celebration booster and a WXP booster and watch the ranks roll in. Taking a keep rewarded a full rank by itself.
I missed the event because I was at PAX. =/
Then again, PAX was incredibly fun, so…
I liked it. Leveling was really fast and doing one heart gave a lot of exp. I checked /age at level 10 and it took me 25 minutes, whereas previously it would be much closer to an hour.
I think they should put in double XP weekends.
