Downed players
I personally think the biggest fix needed for downed players is something to make you dazed for a second or so after rallying.
Too many times does a random teammate kill an enemy and you rally, meanwhile you were mashing one of your downed skills, which ends up translating to another skill when you’re alive.
For example, burning retreat as an ele, spamming 4 because your mend skill is about to recover from cooldown and bam, you rally because some enemy dies, and bam you burning retreat off an edge and die in eotm or against the jade maw (just some personal examples). A simple dazed state (which would even make sense) resolves this (albeit minor) issue.
As OP said, downed skills need to be fixed in order to allow every profession to survive.
For example, in WvW, an Ele can go straight into a keep and heal, while a thief can only teleport to the gate and stay there like an idiot. Or a mesmer teleports randomly, sometimes in a safer place, and most of the time right into the enemies line.
The mechanic is interesting, but maybe they should add something like: every prof can crawl on the ground (RE6-like), and the skills would be hit-disable ennemies-retreat (teleport os crawl speed boost)-bandage.
Whatever the solution, something needs to be done to balance survival chances.

Well, don’t mash #4, just hit it once when it comes of cooldown.
I’m not against the dazed thingy, but in the spirit of maintaining class identity, let them keep their individual skills.
Also, I just accept that some classes are harder to kill when downed than other. I see that as class mechanics.

that’s usually what I do, but the problem is still entirely there, and it can still happen (just happens more with mashing).

Would be rare occurrence, but yeah, if I bring Last Refuge in my mind I can understand the annoyance. Is it that big of a problem to warrant such a big change? I’d hate a daze, would be enough to put you right back down in many cases.
The downed skills are balanced around the class, they’re fine.
