Guild Wars 2

Cute story.
Planning to download gw2 at work tomorrow (slacking off purposes) but the problem is my brother had to borrow my laptop and I cant see him until who knows. I was going to use my disc copy to download it on my work mac but apparently I left the 2nd in the laptop my brother borrowed.

Would it be quicker to download it by disc rather than by website?
Including the patches, how long would it take me to download it?

I need to plan this out because of snoopy bosses and co workers.

I go to work in about 9 hrs id like some helpful answers by then!

You’re not going to get anything from the disc anyway, the game will directly download ALL parts of the game so just download the client from your account page and get some work done while it’s downloading.

You can install GW2 using the DVD, but you have to do it manually or else it simply downloads it. Gw2.dat is split into several files on the DVD that you need to join together. It would probably save you around 10 GB.

GW2 is about 20 GB. You can silently run the launcher by with the following command:
Gw2.exe -image -nopatchui

Just did a fresh install on a friend’s computer this evening, took less than an hour with a good connection.
