I’m curious as to whether or not anyone else (with emphasis on long-term players) have encountered a seemingly inexplicable message while attempting to enter a region I (in my case) knew for a fact was downloaded and unlocked yet was reported as ‘’Download Region? This region has not yet downloaded. Would you like to download this region and be alerted when it’s ready?’’ – to which I said yes of course. But why should this be so? I have made no change to the game in any way and have not suffered any data loss. Anyway, today when starting up the game reported that there was damage to the files – I checked them and they came back as fine. So, maybe this is a consequence of an update. ArenaNET you may want to look into this!

In my case the message appeared while attempting travel from Divinity’s Reach to Lake Doric.

Even if they came back as fine it probably wouldn’t hurt to do a client repair if you’re getting a report of damaged files and access blocked to a particular map because it’s “not downloaded”

Well that’s interesting, I got a “damaged files” notification today too. However, I did do the client repair thingy (that’s the true technical term, by the way), which took about ten minutes. Played the game with no problem.

I haven’t seen the message about download regions.

I did see something about possible damage to some files after the maintenance/update the other day, but I picked the option to just continue (which restarted the launcher) and I’ve not had any problems.

Did you check your Streaming Option, in case it was ‘On Demand’ instead of ‘Max’?

I had the same this morning in a few maps – I can’t remember all the affected ones, but Bitterfrost Frontier for certain. I just put it down to me not waiting for the full download and jumping in as soon as it reached ‘playable’. At a guess, while last night’s update made no changes that directly affect us, it has made some transparent changes to those maps, perhaps some sort of optimisation of the map’s files.

In short, it’s almost certainly nothing to worry about, and just a consequence of last night’s update.
