There’s a couple problems in Dragon Ball right now that are coming together into a larger issue.

1) There is no reward for losing, as such people leave when a win doesn’t look achievable
2) When people leave this triggers auto-balance, and right now volunteering does NOT count for a win, so no one wants to volunteer
3) Anyone who gets forced to switch over will simply leave as again, no reward in being on the losing side
4) This ends up being a repeating cycle for a lot of matches
5) There is also the balance issue that it can be difficult for a team to bounce back from a few deaths as the other team can be camping them with full upgrades

There isn’t a reward for winning either. You get nothing unless you win 10 of them. So because of that leave the instant it doesn’t look achievable and try again. Rinse and repeat. It’s an alright event activity, not my taste as I hate twitch fest games, but it becomes a grind quickly.

Disclaimer: Under no circumstance should you take this seriously.

I’ve had people put on my team at the beginning say something like ‘oh, the good players are on the other team’ and poof – gone. I don’t want to have to game the system to try and have a chance at winning. I know it’s a small thing, but it’s frustrating.

I’m totally for a penalty for leaving, or having some small incentive to stay. (or both, call me crazy)

The problem is that the achievements are for winning, not for playing. They should just be fierce with the auto-kick for AFKs and have the achievements be for all participants. Maybe have an achievement for winning 100 games over the whole event, but that should be it.

Absolute joke Dragon Ball.

Been playing 2 hours and still only on 2 wins and no I am not crap at it either. Get rid of the Daily 5 wins and stop the grind. DB was garbage last time and still is if you are trying to get 5 wins every day.

I am not a person that tries to constantly get on the wining side.

Balancing is nil. Top team ends up on the sale side for the next match.

No fun

Its also bad when you have jerks that single out one player like me that has canthan themed characters and Asian names including Jpn names. I know its going on as I have 5 on me within seconds. I just give up playing pvp in any form as even if I was good, I can’t do nothing against “lets beat up the Asian lover”.

Teams are always mixed each round, so far I’m at 16 wins, sometimes teams are just bad, yes, but always loosing and then saying it’s always the team is not the truth.

I think the problem is that it that it seems better to let people come at you and hide until you have a decisive advantage; should put something in the middle to fight for.

Being easy to identify is not always(maybe never?) desirable. I remember going after a particular person in WvW because they had a color scheme that made them very easy to pick out even within the blob. “Oh hey! It’s that guy I killed 30 seconds ago, lets do it again …”

There is something in the middle. 4x damage boost on the bottom, stealth on top, as well as big heals.

And Yumiko it’s not racism, it’s just how the game works… there’s advantage in numbers and people will try to focus enemies down.

I don’t get the complaint … unless NO games are finishing because of people just quitting or whatever, you’re just as likely to be on the win as the lose side. Statistically, you have a 50% for either so on average, you should need to play 20 games to win 10.

Admittedly, being camped is crap … but the game does finish faster.

The reason people are complaining is because unbalanced matches are unfair and frustrating, and with absolutely ZERO reward for loosing it is a waste of time when you are on the losing team.

There is no incentive to balance out, as volunteer doesn’t give you an auto-win, so players that were on the winning team that get team swapped get mad and leave to join a new, fresh match rather than stick out one that is going to lose.

No, best strategy is at least a little team play. Try to stick to at least one other player. Don’t forget the health powerups in the middle, and learn the skills.

Ah, I’ve just been looking at spots where I can 2v1 people and getting away with that. The teams I’ve played with, we generally stick together and kill loners.

Though funny enough the projectiles are so slow, that you can simply outstrafe people and win as such. Of course don’t do anything silly like solo 3 people.

Though to just outsrafe projectiles you need a really good connection to the server, usually the shots hit you even if they would hit outside of your field of view because of all the lag.

Archon you really should be picking up the powerups, especially the one that upgrade your auto to be much faster and therefore harder to dodge. A single player with upgrades can potentially take out 2 unupgraded players.

A single good player with no upgrades can troll 2 upgraded people easily for the team to pick them up. Just make use of terrain and heals.

From my experience getting my dailies this morning, Dragon Ball is basically a test of “which team can stay together and focus fire an oppenent the fastest/best.”

To the person above me implying it’s about your name? I really don’t think it is. In every game I play people are calling targets on someone and then chasing them like wild dogs.

So far the only thing that seems to make a difference is who can get, keep, and use that reflect shield first/the best. I’ve seen/been in so many 3v1s that went to the “1” because of that shield.

Making pvp style stuff in pve without the pvp structure…. yes….

I do not play pvp, I do not care about the dragonball arena, I go in, die 5 times and do a second one die 5 times and leave again. I do not like it. I liked the racing game in the zephyr sanctum as it does put ppl in a game together, I like southsun survival

But, no: It needs to be: just camp the center around the most powerfull buf and just wait until noobs attack solo…. farm newbz & noobs, and they’ll find it annoying so they leave & lose for the team and then the farmers cash their bags and continue.

Newbz & noobs do not get anything. I’ve seen it and I do not care I’ll just lose my 2 rounds, I do not go and put any effort in it. It is not worth my time. Nor do I care about others time anymore. Why bother, in the end it’s for daily. I’ll just return tommorrow and noob some more. Sorry in advance to any teammates.

Hahaha! I hear you there. All though I’m starting to see people catch on. Had this one guy in a match just a little bit ago who kept using the kick to stun me everytime I threw down the shield. That was some good counter play (he couldn’t attack me, but I couldn’t attack him).

Yes, I think there should be a 5 – 10 minute penalty. If you leave in the middle of a match, you can’t rejoin for say, 5 min. If you do it again the same day it’s 10. Increasing 5 min each time.

That would make it more beneficial to stay for the end of the match at least.

I’ve also noticed people idling, they just feed. Not sure how to fix that one. Maybe don’t teleport them out if they don’t move? But that’s another problem. Maybe a countdown on the idlers screen that instead of moving them out of the spawn area, they get booted with a non stacking 5 min penalty?

I think there’s something seriously wrong with how the teams are balanced. I find the entire thing frustrating as I just played 5 losing matches in a row. It didn’t look like anyone from my team left but it was always 5 vs 3, or 4 vs 3. I was always on the team with only three players. One game when we were down 400:100 two players joined, and then just left. It might have been auto balancing that forced them onto the team. But this does not make a very fun experience when you are constantly outnumbered.

The achievement should have been for every 25 matches or so instead for wins, then give a chest with a bit of karma, a random drop and a few envelopes when losing, and more karma, a random drop with higher chance of being rare and 5 evenlopes when winning.

As it is now, either you are in the team with +100 points, or you will lose because people leave it.

Not only that but 10 wins is too much for the reward. 5 wins is even too much. It’s not like the game is really fun either. It just feels like a daily chore. It’s actually more than 10 because you aren’t guaranteed to win 10 in a row. I would rather be doing somethng else than ride out this grind.

It should be changed with 3 games to win, or 5 games total.

Right now the same players end up on the same side every round. I played 10 plus in a row and three players always showed up on the other team.

You can’t allow DC’s when will Arnet get that though their thick skull. Also when someone DC’s the match has to end so you can’t game the system that way.

People who throw the match to their friends on other side are much harder to catch but there has to be a reporting system to point out people who are basically not doing anything much in a battle.
