Maybe we will, and maybe we won’t.

We probably won’t know until May 27th at the earliest.

For some reason, I don’t think bashing dragon goes well with China release.(although the Jade skin may sell well there)

Why?

Just because we get this (earlier than Dragon Bash no less) doesn’t mean we won’t get Dragon Bash.

Ok let me explain something that you may have overlooked. How does a city spend money on a festival, when the entire city has been destroyed? In real life there would not be any money used on a festival, when rebuilding and clean up should take the priority. If they have a festival now it would be weird… It should be postponed, since no amount of clean up has even been started yet.

I actually was saying the other night that during this down time it would be nice if they brought back other LS(with achievements) for something for us to do while waiting for china start up. I am glad that they are making it happen, just wished that they had started the new(old) events sooner.

Dragon Bash is actually pretty likely.
Part of the Zephyr Sanctum release seems to be about rebuilding LA, and Dragon Bash is meant to be annual. Also Arenanet will be wanting to showcase these types of events to China, hence why we have Zephyr Sanctum and the Crown Pavilion much earlier this year.

Also having a festival amidst a destroyed or partially rebuilt city is not a bad idea at all. it boosts morale and shows the people that even in the wake of ruin they should still keep their spirits up and have reason to celebrate.

I agree. Many cultures have a celebration after a period of mourning following a disaster. Look at 9/11 here in the US. A terrible tragic event that rocked America. After a period of deep mourning and shock, the whole country awoke and was celebrating America and all that it stands for even more than before. It wasn’t a specific day, but a whole shift of attitude and outlook. More US flags and exaggerated shows of patriotism where everywhere.

Coinciding the Zephyr Sanctum, Dragon Bash, and Pavillion with the start of the rebuilding of Lions Arch would be a great idea, not only for the game world and moral, but for players as well. A new exciting festival marking the launch of LS season 2 and hints on what to come. Very exciting and moral boosting indeed.

And why assume it MUST happen in Lion’s Arch?

Besides we know for a fact that we WILL start rebuilding Lion’s Arch with this update, and as such it is fully possible that they have the festival taking place there in order to motivate the workers and all people effected by the destruction of Lion’s arch.

A scarlet bash festival would fit better at this point.

and what do you know….no Dragon Bash after all.

But the current event is not so much a celebration as much as it is a illusionary fund raiser. Which is to say that it really is not a gathering of wealth to help out LA as much as it is a way to flush the surplus amounts of mats.

There is nothing in that announcement that confirms that there will be no Dragon Bash to be honest.
It is fully possible that they will release Dragon Bash in the middle of June (like last year) and have it on together with Bazaar and Pavilion.

This teaser is about when S2 starts, nowhere does it say that it is when the next update is.
So there is technically still hope.

i don’t see how anyone could be against dragon piƱatas
also, dragon effigies were set up Outside of lion’s arch.. why would residents of tyria roll over and admit defeat to destructive dragon antagonists because lion’s arch was devastated by a deranged sylvari?
furthermore, we are missing one huge lion statue aren’t we? wouldn’t it make sense to set up the grand piazza projector? i’m sure whoever was originally commissioned to deliver it would want their good name thought of during the rebuilding of lion’s arch.. at first glance it seems like asuran technology, but has similarities to the might and main projections over hoelbrak.. if i worked at arena net i would have an npc dialogue where someone was supposed to ‘reprogram’ a lion projection and accidentally put in a sea-lion! it would be adorable and humorous and then one of the captains-counselers could yell at them about it :3 anyway, they can have a dragon’s bash this year and just make it Less extravagant than last year.. it would be the perfect transitional living story installment the game needs

also.. this
and this

I actually hope you are right. I am already looking for something else to do beside doing Bazaar and Pavilion.
