I read that a dev stated something along the lines of “Diminishing returns are affecting dragon chests. We’re looking into it.”

Does anyone have any details on what exactly is happening in game?

@ANet: Can you give us an official statement on whats going on and what to expect?

Basically you can sign in, go straight to a dragon zone, have the dragon pop, fight it, get a gold award but a small percentage of the karma/gold/xp and absolutely no chest will spawn.

And is it intended that dragon chests, indeed any chests be subject to DR?

As the dragon grows tired after the massive frequent beating, the dragon has little to nothing to offer.

Regarding the playerbase on this matter, shame on……..shame on you for torturing a dragon that, with proper schooling, could be a friendly house pet.

It’s because you guys are switching to the other two servers to farm the other dragons.

That’s 9 dragons within a 3 hour period.

Always nice to know your not the only one having the issue… But yes and apparently the bugs fix time is “next patch”. So they do know about it.

I would have liked to have known about this before hand, personally.

I haven’t experienced the DR then myself I guess. I don’t guest, and always get full exp/karma for the dragons. I was just worried it would be something like “oh you just ran CoF a bunch of times then went to kill dragon? You’ll only ever get blues because of all the chests you opened sucker!”

Good to hear it’s an incredibly noticeable reward shortage with actual numbers, and that it in no way affects me :]

I haven’t received anything useful from a dragon event in who knows how long. Only really worth doing for daily events since it seems only blues and the occasional green drops from them now. Getting more rares from grinding mobs than from a Dragon chest it seems…

Anet won’t tell us under what circumstances DR kicks in or for how long, its completely possible that it acts the same way as a buff, so any offline time is not counted towards your DR punishment. So if DR kicks in you may have to idle rather than logout to clear it or when you log back it will sill be in effect, even if its days later.

Obviously this could all be instantly cleared up if Anet told us when and why DR kicks in, but that would mean they would have to think of a solution to botters that targets them directly rather than the blanket tar everyone with the same brush approach we have now.

Not true, I’ve never done that and I encounter this bug plenty of times.

there’s supposedly a fix coming, too bad we can’t have the best fix of all, the complete and total removal of DR, if only they would listen to their players and to gaming history.

Removal of DR would be the best thing that could happen to this game. Punishing all players for the bots is no fair to the rest of us.

I have never gotten anything from a dragon chest ever and stopped doing them a long time ago. Did one the other day and got blues – didnt even cover the cost of the waypoint there and walked back to Orr.

Stop killing your players and remove DR – right forgot make them buy gems – after all happy players dont buy squat right- grumpy kitteny poor players do!

I get a rare every other dragon chest. I’m not farming them. I farm events in between dragons, and then do dungeons like a normal person.

Dungeons and dragons are some of the best loot possible
