Let us have a fun exercise. I know there are many players out there who are quite familiar with the Lore of Guild Wars. I would ask these people how they would rationalize, within the Lore, how every mob in Tyria for one month and one month only, has access to the Dragon coffers currently dropping. Now this includes everything from spiders to undead to coyotes. Consider that they only drop for a one month period and then will not drop again so if you were writing a story/book and using a realistic and logical reasoning how would you account for these coffers on all those mobs? Oh and where are all those coffers created/stored/filled?

No more crazy than all of them getting Victory tokens, pumpkin pie, or four leaf clovers…

Same exact thing they did in Guild Wars 1. It’s a game. This is an event. It’s not a big deal.

You could get pumpkin pie and hard apple cider from any mob in the game during Thanksgiving and they don’t even have a holiday for that in Tyria.

Why are you trying to exclude monsters from festivities.

Discrimination.

<sigh> I am fully aware that it is a game and an event and it is just a part of game mechanics but humor me and tell me how you would explain such a thing if you were for example writing a book about it.

Assuming that we know that creatures drop illogical stuff anyway…wolves dropping bows for example, it’s easy to explain.

I always assume the stuff that’s dropped was on the last person the monster ate.

So we have one possible answer…. any more?

Yes and you can thank me for all that loot.

Since the mobs that have loot sparkle when they are dead maybe the magic behind their demise draws goods buried long ago from the ground near their bodies.

My theory is this. Just as in the real world we have arms dealers, illegal whiskey sellers and so forth I believe that the Black Lion Trading Company has been dealing with the enemy giving them a box “guaranteed” to have something of value in it in exchange for more valuable items which they in turn place on sale to us for an inflated price!

Of course the kill theory doesn’t really explain how a deer gets a bow…that’s just weird.

Oh noes! Attack of the killer deer.

Based on that theory we should ignore MF and start dropping mobs on other players instead for better drops …
