Q:
Dragonband
Q:
After buying 40 South Sun supply crates, I had received 1 cheap mini and nothing else of value? Are we going to see this again with this Dragon Coffers in the new event? Thank you for your time.
It’s been like this since release. No reason to think otherwise.
Here is what the offical page says on them:
You can find weapon tickets inside Rich Dragon Coffers and (rarely) in Dragon Coffers, and exchange them for weapon skins from Black Lion Weapon Specialists in every major city!
Also look for holographic projectors scattered all across Tyria during the celebration. These mini-projector devices contain hologram minions which can drop a Dragon Bash surpriseā¦ a Dragon Coffer!

What this sounds like to me is that with the Rich Dragon Coffers you will get a ticket, but this item will probably only be in the gemstore. And while you can get a Dragon Coffer around the world, they have only a rare chance to give you a ticket.
Another wasted opportunity to make ten dollars off of thousands and thousands of people immediately by Anet.
They hate money~!

Ten dollars from thousands and thousands of people is still less than 200+$ from a thousand people.

And this is based on?
You have to consider that there must be a reason why they have been doing this since release, despite the unanimous hate for it from the forums.
They must be getting increased sales each event from this. Why turn around and experiment with guaranteed items?

Because since release I have spent 200.00+ dollars in the gemstore. Up until the Southsun Event, I felt dealing with Arenanet has been very straight forward and honest. Now its bad business practice to present blatantly poor customer service to customers who are willing to spend money in the gemstore. (Please note I had alot of gold saved up by the Southsun event, so I trade it in this time. But Arenanet can link my account back to my credit card number and see the total amount they have received from me since day 1.)

Nearly everyone in my guild (even though it is small) has sworn off RNG gambling on the gem store. A few months ago people would have bought this crap up, but I think people are starting to catch on that if they are gonna pay $200 a month for a chance at content, they may as well pay a $15 sub to get everything offered by a game.

As long as people are stupid enough to go around “buying 40 South Sun supply crates”, yes.

Sounds the same to me. If it gets confirmed, it would mean that Anet managed to learn something after the previous rng box disappointment. Knowing them, though, i’ll hold any congratulations until those are out and we’ll be able to see for ourselves.
