I, for one, can’t imagine someone enjoying having to spend 30 minutes (or 1 hour and 15 minutes in case of Jormag respectivelly) waiting for random dragon spawn. Before I get bashed, that is optional content and such, I understand it is optional content. But the ANet policy is to make the game fun overall. And so far, this spawn window down-time is not fun by any chance. So how should it be fixed? I have three propostions:

1. Just remove the random spawn windows completely, and simply make dragons spawn in set time intervals. But obviously, this is not best choice.

2. Make spawn windows shorter, for example 10 minutes for Tequatl and 30 for Jormag.

3. Make some new kind of buff, that when you enter dragon spawn area, gives you some kind of glow, until the dragon spawns and the buff goes with you to any other area. This way, you can still continue do what you were doing, while making sure you will not miss the dragon. Of course, this had to be with some kind of restrictions, for which I propose only around 20 minutes duration of the buff, and after the buff experes and dragon is still not spawned, you have to revisit the area to get the buff.

And obviously, I did not mention Shattter. Why? Because clearly he is the least frequented dragon of all, thanks to pain in the kitten pre-event, which most people donĀ“t want to bother with, since it is another big downtime.

I don’t see the need for a spawn window either, especially an hour and 15 for jormag. That window is just stupid long.

Actually, I feel the opposite they should totally randomize the spawn timer and even significantly reduce the amount of times those dragon spawn, but we all can’t get what we want.

I say no more than 15 minute window for those without a pre-event, those with a pre-event should start at it’s prescribed times.

I use the timer that tells me exactly when events start. I can be anywhere, at home reading the forum even and I will know. ^^

At the right is an overlay that can go on your UI and you can see the timers while you are playing. It’s big though so that may be too annoying. I use my iPad and just gance at it occasionally.

Irrelevant.

You are not talking about players wandering as they explore Frostgorge Sound who may or not find the Claw of Jormag there, and to whom the time between each dragon event is just something to ensure he doesn’t see always the same content at the same time.

You are talking about the horde of players who religiously watch the event timers looking for events to farm in order to get their daily rare items. In other words, you are talking abour grinders. Those don’t care about “enjoying” content or having fun, they just want to grind as much as possible.

Hence, your comment should actually have been “It would be easier to grind without the dragon spawn window, so please ArenaNet, remove it and let us grind in peace”. Meanwhile, I think ArenaNet has already listened to the grinders more than they should.

treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to

I use that also.

I still think timer should be reduced or gone.

They should just remove the dragons and implement a system that mails everyone on the server the loot whenever the timer pops.

I don’t mind jumping through the hoops to get my loot but seeing as how it is pretty much impossible to fail a large portion of the events(only events I’ve seen fail are temple events,) I can get behind this suggestion even though you were being sarcastic.

You summed it up nicely!, just my feelings exactly.

Anet should make an empty room and fill it with dragons that spawn one right after one dies, hell, make it even better, just make an empty hallway and put some chests with guaranteed rares, no wait, make it even better just send me the items in the mail just so we dont even bother to move, but make it so we dont even have to click on them and make them auto equip pliz…

no better yet make a win button that makes me win just by thinking about it…
no wait…

I am the wonder, I am the storm.
