Guild Wars 2

Seeing how the most recent content has been giving it out a lot, and all other world events have as well. I would like to craft more with these, it seems they just collect, I don’t know a good use for them but I would like to use all three to make a collection of shinny things. I feel like a skritt.

For blood stone dust and empyreal shards you can get thees two items

You can break them into shards, ore and dust using MF recipe. And next time don’t craft those, they are a waste of Obsidian Shards

I take it the silverwaste chest farm train has been frequented a lot.

It’s gonna be hilarious when it turns out you need like 100k Dragonite to make the new HoT precursors and all the clowns trashed them cause they didn’t want to stash it.

I have thousands of this stuff too and I’ve never gone out of my way to farm any of it and I only did enough DT and SW to get Mawdrey (did the PvP lines first in fact). So the abundance of these materials is quite striking.

Especially when you consider the costs of all other mats related to crafting.

Got a lot of those in 2 alt that serve as bank. My star and mawdrey are about to have a cardiac arrest by eating so much of that stuff.

Why dont you just make more ascended weapons and armors? One of each set. I know is not very logical to have so much gear… but… I dont know.

Because Guild Wars is always being updated with new patches, and now an expansion, I just thought hey why not a back piece, weapon, armor or something that requires “just” Dragonite ingots,empyreal stars and bloodstone brick. I would have use the star of gratitude or that other back piece but I already have an ascended one.

The reason I refined them all was because they were taking up to much space and I know Guild Wars has a good community I was just hoping that my idea might make it to developers or someone on the Guild Wars Team.

Think of what a weapon, armor, or item would look like crafted fro “just” these materials, imagine its strength…. it would only give more variation, customization.
No other ingredients please. Just the THREE.

This would be a good solution if ascended armor required ONLY these 3 items, but since it also involves many other items not nearly so easy to acquire, not so much.

I wish I could do something with the glut of dust, shards, and ore that I have stashed away. I could destroy it, but it would have made more sense to be able to sell it on the TP or at least vendor it. Or even give it away.

Their initial purpose was to act as some kind of gate. Many people complained that you can straight out buy legendaries from the tp, so they made ascended weapons account bound. While spending lots of gold for your ascended crafting definately sped up the process, you were still gated in your progress by the daily timegate of laurels and by the speed you could acquire those ascended mats.

Last year, I crafted 7 sets in a row and I wasnt slowed down by expensive mats because i have enough gold.
After the 3rd set, i was out of laurels and 2 ascended mats, which i had to farm every day. So for the last 4 sets, i needed 3 times as long as for the 3 first ones.

They were never intended to have any kind of value but to act as some kind of completion token for certain content, so they could make sure, you actually completed content to earn your ascended gear and not be able to straight out buy it on the tp.

Given…Yes. You crafted armor sets/weapons? For those of us who don’t have an abundance of gold on hand or materials, they collect and collect. You know not just just 250 but thousands of fragments. People complaining and they listen well sound like I might be in the right place to have my words be read. I don’t see the harm, when their bound and can’t be sold or traded. What’s the harm in having maybe one or two that just required a certain recipe to make something unseen, rare, eye candy. Call it a new mystic forge recipe….. and but time gates on it as well. I just don’t see why not..
