Dragons In Exile completed Tier 3 bount hunt
How did you guys get the unlocks so fast? Were you able to just spend influence to get rid of the timer?
Gratz! Putting aside the criticism us small guilds have raised, how are you finding the missions in general? They certainly sound fun! I’m interested to hear more about them as a playable piece of content from first hand sources like yourself and your guild
It looks like this large guild has more than enough influence to unlock most of the guild missions and kill the timer. Notice they’re researching tier 6 stuff?
What did you get, did any precursors drop?
was it challenging enough?
was it possible to wipe and/or fail?
or is it another kindergarden endgame?
We used 1.000.000 influance to unlock everything so fast. Over 80 members participated and we had 7 commanders where we could rally to if one was found. We had 2 seconds left on the timer. So yes it’s very challenging. Finding them is the hard parth though, you can kill them with 10-15 people.
The rewards were not linked in guild chat because we jumped in WvW right after completion.
Small guilds are boned. Lol
Yay for large faceroll guilds…In my eyes this is a complete failure of an implementation.
Really? Already cries of “nooo! my small guild”?
No one is seriously suggesting that small guilds had the intention of going for T3 Bounty to begin with, right?

My God, small guilds really do have no chance at completing these things.

Hey, genius, read above. 1 million! LAWL. Squirm back to your zerg you call a guild plz. I like to know the people in my guild.
guys, just read it. They are a WvW Guild. 1 Million is much, but not that hard for a WvW guild. Stop offending people.
They just want to share information.
Do you have any videos of it? Be very interesting to see!

Don’t be silly.
They had 1mil to waste, so they paid the price to have their bounty be available instantly.
My guild cannot afford that, so we’re waiting out the full 3 days to get it. Just like, I don’t run FoTM, so I’m not crying about not having an ascended ring right this instant.
I don’t see how the big guild getting access to the missions before my medium-sized guild is ruining my game. I also really enjoyed all the ad hominem attacks in your post. Keep it classy.

It’s true, I can only voice regognize half of our teamspeak server.
Small guilds will eventually be able to get all the guild missions, just not as fast. Real life is full of things like this to. I’m sorry if you feel left out, or if your guild will go through a hard time now. My guild was in need of this scale of things to do for months, so we embrace it fully.
Good luck to you
the hard part is “finding them”… o_O
hmmmmmk

No, actually we are a fully PvX guild. We saved up all the influence we could so our WvW teams didn’t get any buffs for a while. We jumped in for them to compensate for this.
Why should the size of the guild matter at all? That’s my question. Take the earrings off the guild currency and I could care less who does them and how fast.
This is the first time they added any sort of gear that not all players have the same equal chance of getting at the same time.
Rings – Fractals – thoes were not closed off for anyone
Back – Crafted by anyone or purchased in fractals
Amulet – Laurels – Everyone the same timeframe
Earrings – Much, MUCH faster if you are in a large guild and might I add cheaper. This makes no sense.
That’s like saying the weapon needs to now come from WvW for X amount of badges, or 100 Laurels and 50 gold. What’s that, you don’t WvW? Ahh that’s ok champ, you can get it eventually…..
I’ll be honest, when I was in a moderate size WvW guild(about 100+ people, 30+ active at a time), we made Influence rather fast. Fast enough to where once everything was researched, we could just rush buffs we pop so they’re ready to pop again without breaking a sweat.
A larger guild than that could easily get influence without spending money. But I bet some was spent.

You don’t think small guilds need things to do? LOL – get over yourself. We’ve done about everything you can in the game, just not with 500 members who may as well be strangers.
It’s not you I am mad at, it’s the implementation of the earrings as you can see by my post above.
I’m glad you guys had fun, that wasn’t my issue.
I will bow out of your thread and probably should not have hijacked it in the first place. My issues wasn’t with you or your guild, just the implementation.

omg, I walked past the shaman arderus yesterday wondering what’s up with that guy.
Congrats on your victory! looks like it was a nail biter at the end. Thanks for sharing the screenies of what my guild has to look forward to someday.
we do not have the influence to get that much that quickly, but we farm enough to purchase points. it’s all in a days work.
Some people can’t understand that not every single piece of content is designed to be available to them in less than a day.
While I can agree with you on this one Wasabi, I don’t think that content should be withheld from small groups for extended periods of time either. And let’s be honest here; how many small guilds(10-30 people) do you know that have anywhere near enough influence to be able to even unlock a guild mission in the next month?
Some people can’t understand that not every single piece of content is designed to be available to them in less than a day.
And yet this content was cleared in less than a day
My 5 man guild has been running since launch. We’ve earned about 30k influence, and spent about 25k.
Now that 3 of us have new full-time jobs, and the other 2 play, at most, 1 hour a night, we won’t see guild missions until late 2015 at least.

Except that being a member of a large Guild doesn’t make you a “more worthy” player other than you are willing to put up with what being a member of a large Guild means. There’s no difference between you and a member of a two-man Guild, quite honestly-people are being rewarded just for the fact that they prefer being in a large Guild, whereas those who don’t get punished-be honest with yourself and tell me how is that a fair implementation of the Guild Mission system (I know the arguments about how it is “fair”, and they are all invalid, BTW.)
^
that party size guild is finished….
And that, Mr. Holmes, is the problem.

Am I the only one who sees these little guilds as a problem? Seriously, just because the game allows everyone and thier mother to have a guild, it does not mean that is the intent.
In truth, what needs to be fixed is the guild system, allow multiple guild chats while representing only one aka your large guild. Small guilds are encouraged for friendship. Not massive content. If you are gonna cry, cry about something that actually needs fixing, not that big brother got more ice cream than you.
Grats op guild on new content.
not everything is fair.
they needed content for guild of MORE than 5 people (all the rest of the game is 5 man…)
so basically, and logically, they expect a guild to be at least 15-20 people …
otherwise its just a party.
Do you have any videos of it? Be very interesting to see!
We have a promotion team, and a youtube channel. I’m not sure if we were recording this though. Everything was focused on completion.
I’ll post links if we have uploaded video’s.
I have a 30 man guild that’s not going to be able to see this content without either A) spending around 3-6 months just grinding dungeons(which most can’t do because of their levels being low) or spending a lot of money on gems to buy influence. Please tell me how my small guild isn’t being shafted here.
Also Edewen, this game has never catered to large guilds, how exactly is being in a smaller guild and not indiscriminately recruiting everyone without regulation a bad thing?
My guild has NEVER bought influance, we just have 100+ people online for several hours every evening and throughout the weekend.
I wasn’t accusing your guild of buying influence Areann. I was saying that for a smaller guild that’s only 1 of 2 options for accumulating enough influence to get into these missions.
wait… you can be in multiple guilds, right?
this content is meant for 10-15 online players.
you know what to do if you want to participate, otherwise you can stay on the bench.
So your solution to the problem is “Join a second guild that CAN do them”?
Nice solution to people who don’t like big guilds.

How is the player in the small guild ‘punished’ for playing how they want?
Compare the situation to two companies, one large making millions a year and the other small making a few thousand. If I were a manufacturer and just produced a device in two models, low end and high end, that was an in demand item. I charge a million dollars for the high end and 30 thousand for the low end. Now if the large company bought the high end device and paid to over night it but the small company bought the low end and choose standard shipping. Why is it ‘unfair’ that the large company got it first?
You as the player choose to be in a large or small guild. Anet isn’t forcing you to be in a large one to get this done but a large one will get it done faster because it has more people providing influence.
Patience is a virtue lost in today’s society.
Grats on the completion OP.

80 and only got it by 2 seconds ouch do you think you would be faster next time or is getting these done even for a large guild a crap shoot?

Well if that’s the case, sounds like you’re prevented from doing Dungeon content too. You should complain about that in the Dungeon forums or something.

Congratulations. Mind if I ask some questions for information?
What hints did you get to point you to the targets, since you have a limited time to go get them?
How much effort did it take to do each tier, that is, find the targets?

I’m guessing familiarity will help it go quicker.

Much like Destiny’s Edge, right? http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Destiny's_Edge
I guess a “party” is allowed to consider themselves a Guild by their standards? BTW, Destiny’s Edge is GW2 canon, not just an opinion of what a Guild should be.
Stop forcing unto others your OWN defitnition of what you think a Guild should be. In short, it’s OK for you to like humongous Guilds, and for others to like tiny Guilds. Both have the right to coexist and enjoy the game’s content.
Oh no, we still manage to do the story dungeons when we have time to do so. But the guild missions were originally talked about as something everyone could do and potentially pull in new members with. Now it’s something everyone CAN do if they have enough members to generate enough influence to do. If they don’t have 50+ active members; they’ll be waiting months to unlock the first tier.
It cost 1 million because they sped up production, which cost a lot. Even my guild with 100 concurrent people online thinks that is a huge waste of resources to speed it up, so we’ll wait the 3 days.
Anyway, Dragons In Exile.
Gefeliciteerd hoor jongens, dat is zeker goed gedaan.

Granted, we didn’t know the locations (as in, area) at all of half of the bounties, which I guess will be known to everyone soon. In addition, we did set up a system of scanning the areas but it’s still in its early phase. With some more thinking I guess it could be easier. We got it first try, too. Nevertheless, it’s a very tough challenge.
Congratulations. Mind if I ask some questions for information?

The hints are listed under the guild — > upgrades —> mission tab. The hints are pretty vague: http://i.imgur.com/GkfnmMa.jpg
Sometimes they’re a bit easier: http://i.imgur.com/cmRDUsw.jpg
The target is never in the same place though, one hint was that it was close to “Steeleye Span” but it ended up being much further north the second time. We got first tier first try, second in two tries, third in one try.

Life is full of discrimination. I don’t like it, and I won’t tolerate it either. I won’t say it’s OK just because it’s common, and I won’t discirminate myself just because many others like to do so.
In short, we can just resign and take whatever life gives us, but we can also take a stand and improve our quality of life for the sake of what we really believe in.
