Im a high ranking military member of a special forces unit that was created to destroy the Great Dragons returning. I helped kill one of the most prominent dragons and a year later not a peep from any of the others? Come on man, three festival type events in a row, its getting droll, advance the main story already.

If I killed a dragon, I’d want 20 years of festivals because death isn’t a party I want to go to…

Considering the dragons didn’t wake up one right after the other but took decades between each awakening, I think it’s safe to say that we won’t be dealing with another dragon for some time.

We’re not talking about a real war, we’re in a fantasy game where killing is rewarded. EQ may actually make it to the 20 year mark as an MMO but I don’t think spacing things out 20 years would be a good business plan for most. 1 down 19 to go!

The next dragon will be defeated by completing a jumping puzzle that allows you to climb up its back, only to have Trahearne shout “You can’t do this alone. I’ll stand with you” before pushing you off the head and finishing the dragon himself by whining it to death.

Equipping my engi with a sonic whine rifle, bring it on!

I don’t think it’d take a full blown expansion, but maybe a couple/few high level zones. Maybe a 5 or 10 part personal story addition at 80, possibly group oriented beyond “personal”. A dungeon. a few boss meta chains. Doesn’t look like this year, no mention of next year yet. I’d welcome it though.

I’d welcome it also. Maybe the content is being worked on or at least being drafted up. I mean it’s not like we haven’t been facing the Claw and Shatterer for as long as we have been facing Teq and also his liege. Those threats are in Tyria(the continent) so I imagine Jormag and Kralkatorrik aren’t far behind.

If we do get an expansion I personally hope we start knocking out Elders two at a time. Would also like to know what happened to the gods. What Cantha and Elona are like today. Maybe even what other continents are out there. Maybe even what other planets are out there. Hey, maybe some more insight into the mist. Figure out another entrance to FoW and the UW. If there are other demons like Kanaxai. If there are other undiscovered humanoid races on the planet. If there are links to alternate realities. If Elder Dragons are actually the largest threat in this reality.

Also would like to say that it’s only 250yrs later, while many things change, those other realms like FoW/UW/Torment and its domains/lairs like Glints old place, The Deep and Urgoz have been around for a lot longer.

What so you want to pick your enemies? We have dragons, but they’re not the only problem in the world. We dealt with the first of them, I’m not sure we even know where the others are. In the mean time we hold off their minions. I’m sure people are searching for them.

And during that time a new threat rears up and you want to ignore it?

Some hero.

I suppose killing another dragon – there are 4 more to go, right? – would involve an expansion to continue the personal story. However, nothing so far has suggested that an expansion will ever be in the offing. If the money rolls in with bimonthly content and new toys in the store, there’s really no motivation to spend the money on a full-blown expansion.

Forget about getting you dragons anytime soon.ANET are just focused on pleasing the farming majority so they can keep the game going.I can tell you that 99% of people who post positive stuff about ANET are hard core farmers.

Gotta quit being so impatient. If they put out the next dragon only a few months later and the next after that what then would they really have to put out after you’ve killed them all off in less than 2 years? And honestly, I’m hoping they remake the mechanics in fighting this last one. It was pretty anticlimactic taking him out with cannons. On a ship…. From a distance…. which they nerfed……… Yeah, that was pretty sad, all of it I mean, not just the nerf. Tbh, I’d like to see all the world dragons we fight updated with better mechanics. I mean what’s fun about standing to the side of Shatterer and taking him out there? That should be fixed so you have to face him up front. And the same goes for Jormag’s lieutenant, standing to the side of him taking down his wall to avoid the ice spike aoes and such.

Yeah I cant comprehend it either. I’m used to maybe one war ending while five others active and available. But anything to get another dragon in here would be a nice break from that stuff on mind, even an expansion if need be. Of course it’d probably be the death blow for Orr… hmmm

Not impatient, one year is plenty of time. And as per the lore, there are at least four more dragons awake; Jormag, Kralkatorrik, Primordus , and the Deep sea Dragon (Bubbles). One dragon a year should be sufficient enough story to keep it compelling. There are five left (theres a jungle Dragon) and 4 are awake (I would love for them to improve underwater combat and bring bubbles to the front) so basically the next 5 years (if done yearly) would be combating dragons, and on the 6th year there could be a new threat that was blocked by the dragons, and by defeating them, released a new and more dangerous threat (similar to Galactus if there are any comic nerds here). So please dont act like it needs to be 20 years for this game to progress to all the dragons, thats an absurd and arrogant amount of time, as most players wont play longer than 5.
