Hopefully this won’t be completely buried. I’m putting it here for maximum exposure, as a lot of people seem to be running into this and not knowing what it is.

What’s happening

• The most commonly reported version of this bug (through my eyes) is that upon hitting level 29, XP from most sources is drastically reduced, making it nearly impossible to continue leveling. This includes events, crafting, EotM, etc.

The workarounds (note: I can’t guarantee that these workarounds will work for you)

• If you have any Story available, some people are reporting that it gives normal XP. It did for me.
• From my own testing, doing downleveled hearts/events gives normal XP – that means go to a zone that is below your level and try some hearts/events there.
• If you are level 29, hitting 30 may fix the issue. If you are below level 30, I’m not sure what level will fix it.

This sucks. I hit lvl 29 and have the exact same issue. First I thought it was diminishing returns, but I see now it’s even worse….

What a train wreck.

I found this problem with my new toon as well. Running around getting waypoints is giving me a good 280 exp though. points of interest give me i think 138, and same with vasages. So i suggest doing those to level 30 until they get this fixed.

I was noticing this in Gendarren Fields today. I would get normal exp from mobs lvl 30 or higher but lvl 25-28 and especially lvl 29 mobs were barely giving any exp. I’m glad to know that it’s not just me.
I also had some waypoints and poi’s only give 25 or 15 xp.

Or maybe its intended? We will never know whats going on the twisted minds of the devs.
